I'd like to see pictures of the mid year new Harley Davidson 500 single based on the Buell Blast. My dealer says it coming and it'll look more like a Harley.

I wasn't asking for sarcastic comments. I was asking for concrete information.

Sorry, can't help it.... Ugly as hell and not a platform for transformation. Looks uncomfortable as is, no dual sport, street tracker, chopper possibilities..... I love anything and all things motorcycle related, but I don't get it.

I'm happy as hell if someone does find a use and happiness.

It seems that with some creative design and the harley name the possibilities for a cool bike are there. I hope this is not the production unit and they produce a badass entry level cool bike. Best of luck on their endeavor!

Harley's primary interest in the Blast seemed to be for their rider training courses. Low seat height, tractor motor, not to heavy to pick up when you drop it, generally easy to learn on in a parking lot. They sold the used ones for peanuts. My guess is it's still all about getting new people in the game; wouldn't be surprised if they offered a generous buy-back for folks trading up to a 'real' Harley a year or two later.

The link shows a photo of a Buell Blast. Yeah, it was an ugly motorcycle. What does that have to do with the new bike rumored by Harley? Did you read or just look at a photo?

Even though the link and story I posted was a Bkast I can't see there being a huge shift in the basic concept or styling when the HD branded version arrives. The big problem from the ADV bike point of view will be the rubber band drive and I doubt very much whether that will change.
I'm not sure that there really is much of a market for this style of bike from a company like HD. Sure it will meet LAMs approval for a learner bike but it would always be the orphan of the HD ange and something somebody purchased effectively as a temporary bike until they could legally buy one of its big brothers.
IMO if HD want to enter the learner bike market they would probably be better off to offer a 650cc version of the 883 low. At least it would look like a real HD and offer some family credibility. BMW and Ducati both offer learner approved bikes that are visually the same as their full spec cousins. These bikes at least have some credibility I can't see this new HD single having that unless there are multiple versions some of which are powerful bikes that people would actually want to buy in their own right.

I predict a S40 Savage style that has half as much HP and costs twice as much. :lol3
