    Just got back from your neck of the woods. The Smokey Mountain National Park was great as well as the tail.

    US differences...

    Strada has:

    - ABS
    - 17/19 Alloy Wheels
    - Low Front Fender
    - Black Plastics

    Terra has:

    - 17/21 Spoke Wheels
    - High Fender
    - Red Plastics
    - Spark arrestor in mufflers

    The forks and shocks are different between the bikes, the assumption is tuned a bit more toward dirt (Terra) and street (Strada)

    Adding ABS to a Terra would be very expensive if it's possible.
    Adding spoke wheels to a Strada is about $1k
    You can put the hgh fender on a Strada for about $50
    Colored plastics swap for about $100

    They key deciding points are ABS and wheels. There's a lot of threads about pros and cons of alloys vs spokes, and there's a lot of threads on ABS.

    It really comes down to what you want to do. Want a good selection of off road tires and spoked wheels, by a Terra. Want a good selection of tubless road tires, and the option for more agressive 50/50 tubless tires like TKC-80s or Heidanau K60s, get a Strada. Want ABS, get a Strada.

    I wanted ABS and Tubeless tires. I've got 4500 miles on my Strada, probably 1000 of that on gravel. It does exactly what I want.

    At those prices, Strada with 50/50 tires and call it good.

    Get the Strada. As others posted, abs...for street a very nice option. I came so close to buying the Strada, I was quoted 7800 out the door. My dealer did not have the Terra, so I drove to California and bought one Friday, thus the pic of it in my van.

    And for some reason they put seats in the back of these vans, go figure. I just had to remove the front tire an that was it. To get the bike out, I hooked my engine hoist to the handle bars and pulled it out far enough to get the tire back on and wha la.

    Now I must wait until Monday to get it registered and insured.

    Another reason for picking the Strada is they 17"/19" was the exact size the BMW F/G 650 was designed for. Chassis design is very complex and the 21" front tire is a compromise in chassis design, even though it is psychologically soothing for the rider. But at high speeds on the highway, it is a safety compromise in stability: not to mention it has the the safer mag wheels.

    All you have to do is raise the fender like one poster did for offroading. It really looks like the way it should look for aesthetics. Off road 'images' sell bikes even though never taken off road. But now I understand that out in Western USA, off road is sometimes essential and convenient. Still, raise the fender up and put new tires on it: you're done.

    I was not aware of the fork differences however, and thought they may all be softer which is geared towards the offroad. I would like to understand the exact differences better. Strada is cool, and they have warehouses full of them, from Pierer's mouth himself, so set your calender to June 30, 2013 and see if any indication of going lower. Pierer has certainly been more active and supportive of the TR650 as of late :clap

    I was thinking the same same thing!
    Never ever had an instability problem with a 21" front at hwy speeds
    More likely to do with the tire choice

    geeez...so sensivtive in here. THIS IS A MOTORCYCLE OPINION FORUM; not a polictical party forum.....

    We are a brotherhood of motorcycle nut cases. Whether it's a Vespa or a Adventure "R" 990 or a DRZ400; we all share a common bond, (two wheels). Lets not let wheel size tear us apart. What are we going to do next, compare the length of our kick starters?

    So back to rummors about the Husky Brand among the KTM Bannor...?
    Why speculate?

    I just wanta piss away another 7 G's on another motorcycle that has my interest this month......and I can't buy both.....
