We stayed at this one. Being a football pitch , it's level and has great drainage. The "Home Team" and "Away Team" changing rooms become Male & Female toilet/showers for the TT fortnight , so if you're taking the other half that's covered.
Club volunteers turned up at 07:30 to cook breakfast , and from memmory evening meals were also available.Bar opened up late afternoon . Hard standing for the bikes inside the stadium.
NOT the place to be for a tearup , they have to live there all year round and don't want to piss their neighbours off, so rowdy behaviour , revving engines and setting fire to stuff will see you off the premises there and then.No second chances:deal They might throw your kit over the wall after you, if you haven't pissed them off too much .

    Hi Joe

Glad to hear you are coming to the greatest road race in the world.
We are staying at glenlough for the 2013 tt if you fancy a beer.
We have been to the IOM TT a number a years and will gladly show you where the best palces to eat, drink and watch the races..
glenlough campsite is a great place to stay, its big enough so you can party or relax. Mr Quayle the owner puts on free bands and has a shuttle bus running to town all day till the early hours for a couple of pounds.
Anyone going to the TT this year can contact us at kurt911@blueyonder.co.uk and we can meet for the craic. :1drink
Hope the weather is dryer than last year but if not we can always shelter in the pubs of douglas.
looking forward to another great TT
    All the best

All kinda related to the IOM trip, so here goes?

Pick up the Bike in Essex, and meet up with the group in Nottingham... then off to the TT

I have a day to get from Essex to Nottingham, other than pushing the button on the GPS...

Anyone have some ideas on a nice ride path from A to B, that might take in a couple of the sites to see along the way.

    Cheers, Navi

After the TT I'm riding up to Scotland for 2 weeks, then meeting up with Bill from Bike Tours UK for his Alps ride. After that, those boys will ride back to the UK & I will ride to Basel to stay with my brother, then ride from Basel down through Southern France, across the top of Spain, down Portugal to some friends just below Lisbon to spend a week or two riding roads round there. After that, it's over to Split, Croatia, then on to Zagreb, Budapest, Bratislava, Graz, Vienna, Prague, Dresden where my cousins live, Berlin & the rest of Germany. Renting would have cost a LOT more than buying.

If I were going just for the TT, I would rent from superbike rentals in the UK. Much simpler, and way less hassle.

I might meet up with Bill in Nottingham the day before, but there's a good chance I could end up arriving in Liverpool morning of the ferry. There's a lass I had some chemistry with who's living in London at the moment... there may be a possibility my nights could be 'gainfully employed', lol.

Just to let you guys know that the local bus drivers are talking about going on strike over TT. This might be a problem if your thinking of relying on buses to get around.

That would be unfortunate for those not having wheels, hopefully they will get it straightened out before it caused a problem

    Hi Joe,
I'm leaving on Monday to pick up my bike in Venice and then ride to the IOM. I'm arriving on Tuesday 28th. I haven't booked a campsite yet, but I will try the campsite near Hillberry first, thats where I stayed last year. If you see a good looking bald bearded old geezer riding an old rusty Suzuki Intruder, say hello, that will be me.
    Regards,
    Mark

    The kindness of folk:
Someone has set up a page on Facebook called "Getting around during TT bus strike - Isle of Man", a bit like the one set up for campers last year when the weather was an issue.

If you think you will need transport to/from the ferry terminal or the airport, please post on the facebook page.

Edit: too add the link to the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/GettingAroundDuringTtBusStrikeIsleOfMan
