If you don't plan on doing serious off-road why would you buy the R unless you like the look,
The dynamic suspension is standard here in the UK, if you don't want it you have to order a bike without it, this decision seems to have made late on as it wasn't specified when it was announced on the KTM site,I'm guessing people are either asking for it or the new GS prices were announced and KTM decided the price with was still competitive,

I prefer less electronics on the R :thumb

Ah yes i stand corrected but upper level Ducs use Ohlins and Ohlins make a complete system retro fit for the GS,

    fair enough,
with a one piece seat and taller suspenders the R is way too high for me anyway,

The KTM UK web site currently states £12595 for the standard bike and £13095 for the same with the electronic damping system (and tyre pressure monitor). AFAIK these prices are the same as originally quoted on their site at the time of launch. :confused

Yes I agree, prices are as you say but they are only supplying 'dynamic' bikes at £13095, the standard bike with 'normal' suspension will be to special order,
this was highlighted by my local dealer Gear4 on their website, after the prices were announced, unless they're mistaken???

    1190 Adventure Std £12595*
    1190 Adventure (Electronic package) £13095

Prices are inclussive of VAT, one years road tax, and first registration fee.

*1190 Adventure standard model will retail at £12595. Which will exclude the factory-fit option of EDS (Electronic Damping System) and TPMS (Tyre Pressure Measurement System). This model will be special order only , and will be subject too availability.

here ya go, from the official site,

    Thanks for the clarification Tiggersteve.

I had misunderstood and thought you had meant that KTM UK would be selling the version with the electronic damping system for the same price as originally quoted for the basic machine. Obviously not the case.

As you said, I guess most orders are going in for the bike with the add-ons.

How is the new 1190 Adventure? [IMG]

    Here are some first impressions:
    Robert Glück, Germany, Sportmotorradmagazin:
“The bike is extremely fast. So fast that, even if you could, you do not really want to ride slowly! I dared to switch off all the electronic riding assistance systems and the result was that I almost lost control. 150 ‘horses’ simply are 150 horses. Man, this is the shit. Off-road I prefer to stay with my own KTM 690 Rally…”
    Marc Cook, USA, Motorcyclist
“Luckily the weather here is as good as back home in Long Beach. The first ride with the 1190 was great. KTM has put a lot of effort into it. This is a well-built and serious bike. Very strong, very light and the electronics work efficiently. I would like to take it on a ride-away back home but there´s just too much water in between!”
    Blake Connor, USA, Cycle World
“Wow – the engine is so flexible – down, in the middle, up in the revs, it’s really strong everywhere. I like the way the electronic assistance systems work, also the adjustment of the drive modes is intuitive. You can feel the difference instantly. What do I not like? That I missed my flight in Toronto which finally cut off three hours away from my riding time. Got one question though: You don´t offer slicks for the Adventure, do you?”

We don't see our demo bike for about 4 weeks. Some UK dealers may get them a week or so earlier.

The Chilean dealer told me that the price for Chile would be around $21.400 to $21.800 and will be here on May.
