Interesting to find out how the seat is for long trips and with a passenger.
I have the same problem on the 990 though...
I find the screen better then the one on the 990 adv, I usually use is 1 cm up from the lower position and all the way up (but not back) in the highway. I get some air on the sholders but zero buffering.
The seat it's quite hard but confortable, the max. I spent on the bike was 3 1/2 hours and I didn't feel it.
How come you removed the crash bars?
So you don't need a 'Touring Screen' in your opinion?
I've got Jerez MotoGP coming up...
what are you riding now?
because I don't like them, they are very heavy... I'll put them back on this summer for my off road trip around Turkey
Ooo any map yet?
990adv with a nice comfy renazco seat!
I'm almost finish with the route, driving down from Itlay trought the Balkans, do the attached tour and then back passing trought Greece to take the ferry to Ancona.
Very nice, keep me informed. )
I think you'll be fine with both original screen and seat...
What's the road handling of the R like vs the 950/990?
First independent assessment I've seen on passenger accommodation for the Standard 1190 Adventure from a reported test ride here.
Unfortunately, not good: rear footpegs poorly positioned; worse, the reported problem is just what you'd predict from how it looks.
Balancing that: Joe Pichler reported his wife as being happy on the R:
"Renate is thrilled with the seat, shes never been riding so comfortable through Africa." Posted in ride reports here.
Just picked up my 1190 Adventure R and drove 60 km in freezing cold in Holland (fortunately with heated grips .
First impressions: amazing bike, very well balanced!
Extremely smooth engine, front end very good, no diving and good feeling of what the front tyre is doing. I really like the suspension, nice and stiff. Not the soft springs I 've had on my BMW 1200 Adv. or Multistrada!
Windprotection very good, even in Dutch weather conditions, seems to me a higher screen might even not be required.
This is so much more relaxed than my previous multistrada, perfect!
Me happy !!
You can read my review after a test ride here:
What Ewan McGregor said, after speaking with a KTM hot shot on the phone, is that KTM thought that they (Ewan and Charly) couldn't do de trip, and that would be bad for KTM's image and reputation. We all know how it ended: BMW gave them the bikes and they were successful.

Oh, that's fresh news...
No este tema de nuevo, hombre.
Today almost finished the first 1000 km, at home got these details.
However, with this I believe that I will pump 18 liters; that's what happened with the previous tank.
