    Hey Dude,

PBR, right? Or is it Coors Light?

Do I also need to make room in the garage for "kitty"?

I'm seriously thinking about painting the Supertanker orange with rattle cans for the big shindig! Want to help?

Is there any good singletrack near Steamboat that would make taking the 500 worth while this time?

About 30 miles north of town, just beyond Steamboat Lake State Park, there are miles and miles of trails. Some ATV and some MC only. Spectacular mountain riding :clap

Getting tuned up on cheap beer and rattle canning a beemer orange? Shit ya! That's all we KTM riders dream about doing! :freaky

I'm sure we can sneak you in. But we'll have to figure out a way to get your bike dirty and maybe put some knobbies on it... so that you fit in. :D

Do they even make knobbies for BMW's?

I'll run over there with you Rob, I can take the GS sidecar rig so we have room for the beer.

I thought they painted them orange so that they were easier to find when you came back for them with the truck.

Killer loop: Circle the Zirkles. Wyoming Trail up the West side and Grizzly-Helena down the east size. If range is an issue, you might have to pop into Encampment to top off.

Ha! I knew that would get you all whipped up. "SHIT YA!" says Sean. :lol3

Just the thought of spray painting a BMer that KTM orange color probably made you hyperventilate a little, huh? Angie had to get you to breathe into a paper bag, didn't she?

And yes, I'd be happy for YOU to put a set of knobbies on MY bike. I'll pick the rims ......... you can pick the tires!

Now that comment about having to get my bike dirty was just mean spirited. (I hope to hell that Santa was watching!) :D Now Sean, you know that I wear all that caked on dirt like a badge of honor. As a matter of fact, I won the Beehive Beemers "Please Wash Me" award at Panguitch 4 or 5 years ago. Funny thing was .......... I'd gotten caught out in a hail storm in the San Luis Valley a few weeks before, and it beat damn near all the mud and bugs right off that pig. So when I was duly recognized and "HONORED" with that prestigious award .......... the supertanker was actually cleaner than it had been in a few years! Crazy world, huh? (BTW, I'm gonna wash it sometime this winter. Thinking about maybe Feb.)

Actually I'm really excited about the KTM shindig coming to town. It'll be a lot of fun. Bikes everywhere in Steamboat ........... just like the old days with the Vintage Races. Yippee! I was in Moab when they had the KTM shindig there and it looked to be a lot of fun........ even though they wouldn't let me participate. I may even get a special batch of Road Damage stickers made up to commemorate this event .......... and of course to "tag" all those orange bikes with!

"My Owner trailered me to Steamboat ........ and all I got was this stupid sticker!" :lol3

Dana, mark your calendar. We'll have room for you here at the Inn. I'll even make a hole in the garage for the hack.

    Rob,
I am planning on running up there at least for the day but Steamboat is too close to home to worry about finding a place to stay. I'm not worried about leaving the GS out in the weather for the night either, it's not like it hasn,t been dirty a time or two.

I keep waiting for Joe to offer up "Camp Whitewater18" as the unofficial ADV base! The KTM shindig is in Sept ........... so it could sorta' be a trial run and warmup for the Fall Colors Tour campout and bonfire.

BTW, I went by our local KTM dealer this afternoon .............. and only one of the guys working there had heard that this Rally was coming to Steamboat.
And he had forgotten to tell anyone else!

    :huh WTF?

Must be an "Amendment 64" problem!

    Joe? :ear

    Hello Joe? :ear

    Anybody out there? :ear :lol3

Loads of it. Some of the ATV is challenging as well as 4 WD. Good Single track and the possibilities of numerous fun loops.
