Congrats on the orange toy! You will love it!
Hopefully I will see you there...
In Steamboat today, just passing through......It is as beautiful here as I remember it! Looking forward to September.
Hey, were you riding your 950? We had just left The Bakery after having a late breakfast at Teledoug's place and saw a single rider go though town.
Yep, the valley in the spring is beautiful and green with the aspens finally in leaf. However, we still had frost this morning, and snow only a week ago. Hopefully we will have rain this summer to keep things green for the September rally!
Nope, that wasn't me.....in the camper at the campground this time, but did have the bikes in tow.........off to Laramie today for my daughter's college registration later this week. We will be riding around the Laramie area all week.
That connects alot of dots for me.
Staying at the campground.
Looks like typical 950 oil change to me!
Crap mines due too!
Just reserved my spot at the campground 10th-14th. 4000 mi. round trip!
I know that i am super late to the party. I just got the time of from work and I AM IN!! Will have to call the camp ground tomorrow and see what is left.
looks like I am riding out solo and the wife is going to fly in. Any one else leaving or riding threw MPLS? CJ?
We are still working out details on cjd tech at steamboat, but it's a go on dates listed.
email me for ride details boatman.
I just made reservations with the campground and look forward to being a part of the tech workshop and KTM rally.
Nice to see some activity in this thread again. Since I can't make it happen this year all I can do is follow along online and think back to how much fun the Rally was in Bend last summer.
Post lots of photo's everyone!
It's official... I can't make it... F'ughhh. Have to attend a wedding in Rome. Tickets purchased... no getting out of it unless groom-to-be bails. And I can't bribe him 'cause he's rich.
Last year's KTM Rally was great, but I was really looking forward to this year's CJ Pre-Rally at the SS campground.
Pics, Pics, Pics.... Please!
I feel your pain! this is what mine looks like today:huh
I can beat that!
Mine developed head gasket issues after a fast trip to Prairie de Chien. And, then I threw out my back trying to lift the motor into my Xterra. I landed on the driveway with the motor on top of me because, in that second or two of excruciating pain I was experiencing after the back gave way, I was calculating in my head the cost of new engine cases if I dropped the motor. I couldn't get out of bed the next day, so EMS had to come take me to the ER for the good drugs. In addition to some bizarre head gasket issues, the original cams are pitted, as is common on the original engines. So those are getting replaced with 990 R cams.
The bike's not ridable,
My back hurts,
I'm out of Valium,
I've got bizarre bruising on my chest in the shape of a V-twin, and
My ass hurts from my wife chewing it out because of the engine rebuild cost.
So, while I do admire your efforts to definitively establish your bike's center of gravity, I just want you to know that any problems you think you have . . . really aren't that bad.
So much more *biker* than a silly Harley Davidson tattoo
I have a cabin booked will be there Tuesday sometime. There are a couple cabins available and camp sites as well at: http://www.steamboatcampground.com/maps.html
I cant wait!
Awesome! Can I charge up all my stuff in your cabin?
I've got a cabin as well, and I verified that it is charger compatible!
However, there may be a small barter involved for the electricity...................got beer?
Anybody heading up from Phoenix? I was considering picking up the COBDR from the four corners.........just a thought, open to any alternative routes depending on time etc
