no doubt :freaky, but the brewfest is an all day drinking event and packed w/ tourist.
i think people are coming to this rally to ride the area and then have some drinks at night.

i can think of 3 sweet ADV rides for the rally.
-south over lynx pass > colorado river cyn > trough rd > kremling > dirt road back up to gore pass > buffalo park north > rabbit ears > stmbt
-north routt > ellis jeep trail > 129 > california park > bears ears loop w/ some single track
-west > cr 29 > maybell > yampa bench road > echo park > dirt road back east

all you thumper guys have all this to ride

    Yo Gents,

This event may be music to our ears. Four or Five of us were planning a riding trip from out east here where Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland come together. We were going to trailer the bikes out to Northern CO, unload and ride a north loop to Glacier National Park and back. Would it be worth it to attend this event before starting the loop?

Coming are 3-4 990's and a Ducati Multi. Well.....we wont talk about the Ducati. He can get our take out pasta while we get muddy.

    Your opinons please.

Trailering a 990? :ddog You need to ride those things :ricky

I'm thinking of stopping off at the event during my Continual Trail ride. Seems like a great place to start/end/visit during any ride :nod

I am from Brazil and would love to participate at the 2013 KTM National Rally, but it is to far way to bring my bike.. Do you guys think it would be possible to rent a bike, even a smaller one to participate?

I will be in the USA around this date and I would love to participate.

Because wasting fuel and tires on the fly over states sounds like so much fun...

Hello CMurgel, I think the bike rental options may have improved and the ride will be super. Harry Hill , Basin Motor Works, Mancos, CO is/will be renting KLR bikes by that time.

If this is of interest to you, let me know , I will put you in contact with Harry, or contact you , or what ever works best for you.

Yes, I know KLR, but still a bike, still 2 wheels and the awesome roads will not know the difference. :lol3

    Keep in touch, gale

Well I guess I got something in common with them then after all.

Considering I could tow a trailer with my friends in it to steamboat springs for 900 dollars spending 225 dollars a person on gas (assuming 4 people) and tow straight through because we could alternate drivers, and have completely fresh knobbies already mounted on the bike ready to go instead of having to spend half a day changing tires when you got there.

Or we could all ride out there and spend an extra day or 2 on the road spend 340 dollars a person in gas and have to change tires.

Not to mention the logistical hassle of breaking a bike and the fact you'd spend more time getting to and from where you want to ride instead of riding where you want to ride...

Yep sounds like a great idea to ride there.

I'm in Olympia and think I could get a couple guys from this area to trailer and split costs. We should try to plan way ahead so i can approve it with the boss:evil

Yep, that would be worth doing. You will get plenty of info on the multitude of roads that will take you north towards Glacier. A lot of inmates from CO have ridden that way lots of times!
Of course you may get too caught up in the excellent ridin' in the CO rockies to make it north to Montana. :evil

You could rent an 990 Adventure from these guys and have an epic ride from San Fran to Colorado and back after the Rally depending on how much time you have.
