    It's on again!!

..... only this year with a change of location for the Saturday Night:

    Friday 1st November - Pooncarie
Saturday 2nd November - Lindsay Island

Numbers at Top Hut Station for the Saturday Night have declined over the last couple of years, with only a dedicated few making it there for the Saturday Night, so it's been decided to change the location for this year's Run to Lindsay Island for Saturday Night.

Lindsay Island is in the Murray Sunset National Park and approximately 250kms from Pooncarie along the High Darling Road / Wentworth / Merbein / then along the Southern Side of the Murray River via Kulnine / Ned's Corner.

Once on the Island we'll likely camp opposite 'Kulkurana Cliffs' on the Western End of the Island - there's an excellent beach there for a dip / wash / swim and plenty of flat areas for camping, etc.

For more detailed information and a map of Lindsay Island download the brochure from Parks Victoria here:

    http://parkweb.vic.gov.au/__data/as...Park-note-Murray-Sunset-NP-Lindsay-Island.pdf

Should the weather be 'a wet one' - and access to Lindsay Island restricted, via the predominately 'dirt' roads, then the plan would then be to stay an extra night at Pooncarie, as it can be bitumen out of there in the wet.

Of course the 'Good News' is that fuel is again available at Pooncarie, as kindly highlighted by Clancy here:

G'Day Nev! - looking forward to catching up again :freaky

I've just phoned the Telegraph Hotel and booked a room for myself / Dogsbody and The Mayor of Mullaroo (who has been know to sleep on the pub's verandah in previous years :snore)

Publican confirms there's fuel back again in the town, however maybe it would pay to phone a week or so before we onslaught them to ensure this is still the case as it's only been up and running again for a couple of weeks, and anything's possible or subject to change.

I would suggest as always that anyone expecting a 'counter meal' at the pub on the Friday night, phone them in advance - this will prepare them for how many to expect, so they can have additional staff, etc. We've been going there for a few years now, but it's still courteous to try and assist them with numbers and as much notice as we can give them. That way no-one's disappointed or has to miss out.

Not sure if my new one will be finished:wink: but if it is, there's yours, mine, Bernie's, probably Preston Paul on his new Ural, maybe Pops, maybe Crusty. No doubt a few others will chime in.
