There are a lot of hotels in the area.
Boomtown is about 4 miles from downtown Reno
Just tell them you are with the ride and you'll get the rates I quoted.
Is anyone doing the adventure ride 2 up?
I don't know of anyone doing the adventure ride 2 up, but it should be easy to do for anyone with some experence.
...anyone have any idea how tuff the dualsport loop is?
I've been thinking about this for a while.
Maybe have to go out there solo...
looking forward to riding some nice st in the area, any locals know anything about the hard route?
rumors have it harder than in years past. Should be fun
(loose st climbs from what I hear)
cool the harder the better
...any idea how long the dualsport loop is each day?
IIRC the dualsport loops are ~100mi each day, and they have hard & easy. Gary (organizer) said a KLR650 dirt rider with 1yr experience should be able to complete the easy loops. I also understand they have lots of bail-out options on all the routes, so if folks are running late/tired/wounded bike etc. it is easy to bail and get back to the hotel.
Looking forward to this ride...just gotta get healthy (sciatica flaring up )...also hope this heatwave starting up has waned by next weekend
The organizers, by not providing more information on both rides are missing out on a lot potential riders. No one wants to invest money without having information posted as to difficulty ect. and having to make phone calls to ask is PITA.
uh ...., it's a dualsport ride with an A b and long c route what more do you need to know aside from maybe miles to gas
everyone ive talked to has nothing but great things to say about this ds ride highly organized, pulling out all the stops to make it a first class event. heck you can even see the air show while your there!
These guys are easy to talk to via ph, email, fb, etc.
