What's the mileage of something like that? Thanks for the tip.
Metal Masher (backwards from the normal direction) is fun and challenging, Monitor and Merrimac is very scenic and varied terrain (one of my favorite rides in Moab) and the Sovereign single track and atv routes are also fun.
Fins and Things is an awesome taste of riding slickrock, and an education as to how steeply a motorcycle can climb when on 80 grit sandpaper!!
mileage....no idea, but it's not WRT long, it's like putting Slickrock, Hell's Revenge and Porcupine Rim together (wild ass guess).
It's a great loop, close to town - gas should not be an issue even for smallish tanks. It has some great stuff in it. Gold Bar Rim, Golden Spike, the crack... One end is reached out by the Gemini Bridges turnoff, the other end is off Potash Rd down before the big bend in the river.
You're also close to Gemini Bridges and Bull Canyon, both worth a look.
Zoom in on the area between points A and B and pan around.
close to town, but it feels remote
Cliffhanger is fun and a little challenging in places. I also like the Kane Creek Pritchet Canyon loop.
^ Yeah Blake I should hit something different, thanks for the ideas. I do own the Moab maps and have a friends Lat 40 still. I guess I'll be studying it.
Edited to say: Studying Blakes route idea the miles add up to 42.6 toss on another 10 miles to include campground and wrong turns we are looking at 52.6 mile loop. That is for Poison Spider (Potash Rd 279) to Golden Spike and coming out at US191. Seems like that would be a good morning loop grab lunch in Moab, toss fuel in the bikes and head back out...maybe then to slickrock trail.
This ride is full.
Please click here to send me an email ASAP if you've posted above and still want in.
I like to join this ride, but did not reply earlier. I was watching your website and waiting to register.
So I am out of luck ? Do you have something like waiting list?
Send me an email...
It looks like the registration never went live on the site to me.
There is a requirment you need to be a RMAR member, but no place on the site to join.
How does one join the group?
Kinda confusing to get to sign up for this ride, and the group in general, and no way to do it.
I AM OUT. I said earlier I could make it. My son and I am going to ride the KOKO Weds to Moab, and then play thursday in Moab and probably meet you all on trail on our way back Fri. We will be on two WR 450's.
OK, thanks for letting us know and hopefully we'll see you out there. Have a great time with your son...
Showing up to the event makes you a member.
Actually gang, RMAR has decided not to have membership. Being a volunteer organization and all of us being gainfully employed, our time is limited. Membership requires an immense amount of office work.....time we simply do not have. We are a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors, contributors and volunteers. We are formalizing this message to put on the website.
On the other hand, we are an official AMA group......so we will always recommend that everyone join the AMA. If you are interested in your rights to ride street or dirt in the coming years....this is a really good place to spend less than $50 a year. Besides, there are some nice AMA discounts with many companies. Please join.
As for the Koko ride closing..... unfortunately, we have to keep our numbers down on a ride like this to stay legal and under the radar.
If there are several of you that want to ride the Koko/Moab and you missed the 'first dibbs' of the RMAR ride......someone simply step up and organize a second ride. This is done all the time as ADVRiders.....just do it. If you do it, the only request I have is.....Please collect $10 a head and donate to Ride with Respect out of Moab. They desperately need our help. They work their asses off on the trails that we come once or twice a year and enjoy.
Thanks for understanding.
EDIT - This ride is full and CLOSED.
If you have already sent me a message and received confirmation back from me, then you're in. More info will be sent directly to you via email in the next few days.
Just counting 35 days to go!
Are you ready?
Getting ready, and almost there!
Yep ready to meet you all down there in Moab.
The KTM is almost ready for the trip. The 650r is going just in case.
I want to see you ride them both at the same time - that'll be awesome.
