Thanks for that Big John. I was getting a little worried about the riding. I'm pretty new to offroad with a KLR and was hoping for something a little less "adventurous" then what you guys have been talking about. If one is camping with a tent, do you know if there is an area or one spot for one tent type camping?

One of the fantastic things about this area is there is something for everyone. There are awesome paved twisties, and some easier dirt roads right out of Silverton. If you want to stretch yourself a little, you can go a little further up the mountain. You'll be able to meet some riders like yourself and team together and ride.

Regarding camping or other lodging, go to our event page http://www.rmariders.org/rmar-rendezvous.html and check the info under "Lodging".

As Mac stated, there is something for everyone and you will never be alone.....unless you want a ride of solitude. Little ride groups will form for every taste and type of riding.

We love for newbies to come and experience and learn. Helps us to accomplish part of our mission of promoting adventure riding.

    Come one....come all....

Greatly looking forward to meeting many new people and hearing stories and thoughts on riding, bikes, life, whatever! Also looking forward to better my riding skills in any form but especially dirt as I know there will be many experienced riders. I will be part of the San Juan 500 and then looking forward to the Rendezvous to end the week out with a bang. Can't wait till July!!!!

If you can't find acceptable lodging at basecamp, remember there are several other places in town where you can stay. Check the Silverton Chamber Lodging page for locations - http://silvertoncolorado.com/?page_id=562

    Newbie with questions.

How is this event structured? Will there be a sign up for rides? I was looking into staying at Eureka so the family and I could ride the Alpine trail in early July. I could move the trip back a couple weeks to partake in the event.
