Yes, I own one! Bought it also a bit on impulse, it was on my short list of cars to look at, and when I saw it, just bought it right then and there.
That said, I kept my Civic SI hatch as the dog hauler and the car to get tree sap on it down at my office :loll

Paid list, no test drive, didn't even ask for one. Figured if I hated it I could sell it for what I paid. I have a thread about the car, http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=854738

It has about 1300 miles on it, I am getting about 31 mpg, not easy driving :deal The back seat sucks, but I don't plan on putting any humans back there. My dog can fit (130 lbs, big guy), but he does not like it because it is not HIS car (he has been in the Civic since he was 3 months old, he won't get in any other car either, go figure)

I love it. The nav system is not that accurate, took me to a different hotel yesterday, the sound system is all touch pad, I don't like that. You have to take your eyes off the road to change stations. Getting used to it, but would prefer buttons. Interior is great, handling is superb, for me, it is fast enough!
At idle the boxer engine sounds agricultural, but once you get on the throttle, sounds good.

Somehow, I missed your thread. Congratulations on a great car!

I think my test drive was maybe 20 minutes and about 10 miles or so. That was one hell of a fun drive!

What do you think of it in regards to a daily driver: would it be suitable? I thought the seat was very comfortable and the ride not bad at all.

I really liked sitting in that seat and pushing the start button (which is a big ass button :lol3 ). It sounded like a typical Subaru as the engine spun, then a nice bit of rumble and throat erupted when the engine caught. Otherwise, I didn't really hear the engine much while driving, though that could have been from the salesperson droning on and on.

It would be a great daily driver, although ingress /egress might be tough if you are tall and get into a tight parking spot. Visibility is great to front and sides, good to rear. Ride is good, better than my 02 civic si, but to be fair, it has low pro tires (not stock). I bought my Honda new for 7k under list in 02, has about 95 k miles, is a little worn, and if I had to get rid of it, the BRZ would be fine for my commute. It is nice to have a beater car, though.

    Thanks for the info :thumb

I really did find it quite comfortable for such a fun car.

Now to do the dealer dance.

Love the BRZ. Love it. Drove the Scion FRS. Reminds me of the old Z series. Too bad they have not gone t-top yet.

What is with dealers only stocking automatic BRZ's?

Who the hell would buy an automatic with a car like that?

    My mind: it boggles. :huh

It's eery to hit the gas when I get onto a busy road and just hear the engine whine with no shifting, then to look and see I'm doing 60 mph.

Yes, the manual is a big part of the great driving experience. My fav thing to do of late is to go out late at night and scream around. Fun car.

Looks like a really fun car. A lot of similarities to my 968 I think.

Well, I did it. Just bought a silver one with manual.

And thus ends my CVT experience :puke1

Gotta say, the car is a blast! I just spent an hour driving around aimlessly. I'm glad to say that it is both fantastic on backroads and very comfortable on the highway. I've already hit 65 miles! :lol3

My wife bought one a week ago. Her '06 Honda S2000 was destroyed in a march 18th hail storm. Can't buy those anymore so she ordered this Satin White '13 BRZ Limited 6 speed manual a week after hail storm. It came in last week.

Here it is straight off the delivery truck. So far after 200 miles she loves it.

She added WeatherTech floor mats and has the Subaru cargo tray on order. Also on order is the home link rear view mirror and wheel locks. The front end will be capped with the 3m paint wrap to prevent rock chips to the paint.

Cool. I got the package with the wheel locks and home link. It also came with the trim piece in aluminum on the upper fender by the mirror. Already installed, it was not like I had a say in the matter :loll

That said, I find the home link mirror really cool. LED directional compass, can open and close garage door, also auto dimming when lights come on. Very cool.

I read that as can opener :lol3 In the mirror?

Mine also came with wheel locks, though haven't installed them yet. I'd like to add something to the front; that plain black piece below the bumper has to go. Also need to check out the jack and such. It was 9:30 at night before I was off the lot.

They didn't have time to install it on this car she needed a car ASAP. The Honda was sold as is and shipped to Illinois. We are good friends with the Finance manager there who actually sold her the honda back in '06. He was in sales way back then. He took care of the Honda sale for her as well.

I actually was shopping for a nice used s2000, but the low mileage cherry ones were 20k and up, and the cheap ones were beat.

I do prefer new, if i can, I like the warranty and new car smell
