Brian didn't you tell me that your homophobia automatically kicked in when you first thought that the koala was a giant GERBIL.

Hopefully for the Melbourneites the Nagambie bypass will finally be open.

Last time we made the Sidecar Rally was with the small-person in a Flexit and the missus on her Monza.
Kicked out the sidestand, leant the outfit over and started setting up the Taj Mahal tent.
A few blokes wander over to say g'day and look at the (very shiny) bike and leaning sidecar, as you do.
Eventually some moth-eaten old fart wanders over, looks at it for 15 seconds and pronounces in a very loud voice to the assembled gathering, "Nah - can't possibly work!" and stumped off, taking his circling flies with him. :norton
How the phark did he think we got there then? Beamed down by bloody aliens? :lol3
    Prick.
Fairly sure we passed him on the way home - some greasy old smoke-blowing clap-trap, crabbing up the road and struggling to maintain 80 - but we blew past so fast I couldn't be sure, but I gave him a wave anyway.... :D
Haven't really much bothered with the sidecar rally since then - probably better with Doonie at the controls. :clap

    Meh.
Doubt it was Doonie - this fly-blown ancient had hair.... (Hi Doon: ellis says g'day!)
Went to the Spag rally late last year for the first time in 15 years - and besides a different site, it was mostly the same old farts banging on about the same old things - and mostly riding the same old things too (though some had new bikes....)
Might come back in another 15 vyears and see if anything's changed.

Hi we are back from our annual easter mystery ride, which has been on for the last 2 years due tu some of going to the scrapheap rally.

Anyway, the doony man is gonna put up some photos and maybe a vid, of our latast exploits.

Led by our fearless leader Marty, on his Grumpy built triumph triple sidecar rig (with his two kids of 9 and 11 on board , we traversed the Otways from Ocean Grove to Port Campbell via 90 percent dirt.

    Fucking unreal.

4 Grumpy built sidecars were on the trip.

Not one bolt or attachment fell out, a tesatamount to Grumpies engineering prowess.

Phil Groves on his 1800 Kwaka has become a sideways dirt track champion sidecarist.

What atrip, i could go on for hours, have i mentioned the performance of the mighty sr500?

Anyway, make an effort to come to the Vic sidecar rally, where we can bore you shitless with all the details.

    cheers

I reckon we musta done 500 k's on the most sensational dirt back roads ever hardly seen by human beings. Almost no traffic, mostly smooth but loose gravel or snotty hard pack with bark every where but sooooo much fun. Nearly got chucked outta the pub. All good.

Much thanks to Marty for the hard prep work, constant trips to the Otways for hands on research and picking awesome roads.

Best buncha guys to ride with.

    Awesome weekend.

Get to the sidecar rally to see some of these weapons and maybe have a little tryout.

    Cheers,

    Doon. :clap:freaky:clap:freaky:clap:freaky

Love your work Doonie, its a good feeling getting the sidecar sideways.
Looks like you all had a great time,I would have loved to been with you, but I just had too much on my plate to get done before I leave for Hanoi on Friday.

But I will be there for the sidecar rally, but on the F800GS which I will ride to my sisters home in Melbourne and leave there packed for the rally when I return from Saigon on the Friday morning of the rally. Might be a little bit tired though:wink:

    Hey Doonstrer,
Heard a good line at the Broardford Bike Bonaza weekend... "The best thing about a sidecar is that you can take it off".
    See you at Carters Beach.
