The Arkansas 500 is a Dual Sport Motorcycle ride (not race) that spans three days and travels over 500 miles of back roads in the Natural State. Arkansas offers the most diverse sites and experiences for dual sport riders in the Midwest, including beautiful wooded forest, large hill climbs, incredible water crossings and more back roads that can be ridden in 10 years! Get on your bike and ride the 4th Annual Arkansas 500 April 11-13, 2014 with like-minded people out for a great weekend. See the site arkansas500.com for more info and registration. Proceeds from this ride benefit Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. Thanks

Any chance we re-run "O'Leary's Trail" this year? That route was nothing short of awesome. If not, I may run it when we go up early.:D

I'm arriving early sometime, too. Can't find any info on this trail. What roads does it use and in what area?

It was route put together by O'Leary here on ADV. Its the second day route from last years ride. I have it in my GPS and the tracks were wiped from the old web site I guess. Maybe Tim will post it up for those of us that don't have it. Its definitely a must ride.:ear

    Sounds like fun---luv Arkansas !!!

Can a guy register at the last minute--or show up, pay and ride ?????

Reason I ask is------I never know where I'll be---and never commit to anything as I just never know which way the wind will blow me.
So rides I have to commit to (pre-register) --------- that are weeks or months away---I just can't do.
I may be headed out West about this time of year---and may try to pick up this ride on the way.

It's the curse of being retired :D:D:D:D

So if that's not OK--just let me know and that is fine---I understand.

I have started a AR 500 catalog listing of GPX in the SLAP tracks thread so if you guys have route and tracks to upload, put them there and add a small discription such as length, year, which day like "DAY 1 or DAY 2 etc" and especially if you think it would be big bike (larger than 650cc) friendly

We have 16 signed up and ready to go. I really do want to keep the numbers down to around 40 this year. 62 riders last year was borderline too much.

62! You all start at the same time? I would suspect the tracked are layed out then groups thru out the day start when they wish.

I've been wanted to check the area out and ride this year so I'll have a few questions :) If it was a 62 rider deep start... uhhh..ya.. Too many!!! for anything..

I started to make the donation to the Turpentine Creek Foundation earlier today, and stopped to have lunch. Now I see you want to limit the riders to 60 or so and I am reluctant to reserve a spot. I just bought a bike this month and haven't ridden in 30 years, but thought this ride would be a chance to ride with others, make a few new friends, and see some great roads. I refuse to be the guy everybody waits on, but the description of this ride says, "Set your own pace". So somebody speak up and tell me to pick a ride some other time, or come on and ride with us. I don't want any resentment because of being the NG. Like most riders, I don't have tender feelings, say what you think.
