    Berkshire Big Adventure
AMA National 2 Day Adventure Ride
    May 17 & 18, 2014

2014 Berkshire Big Adventure will be a two day event that is part of the AMA National Adventure Ride Series.
The BBA will be held on May 17 and 18 in Tolland, MA.
This is our 10th annual May event.

Join us for "Vince's Ride" and help make this our best adventure ride and dual sport yet."

This ride will continue the tradition of a main route designed for adventure bikes with optional hero sections for dual sport bikes. Please note that this ride is designed for Adventure bikes (i.e. GS 800, KTM 990, etc) and Dual Sport thumpers (i.e. DR 650, DRZ 400, WR250R, etc). This ride is not for 2 stroke enduro bikes. Two day main route is a big bike friendly tour of scenic dirt roads and country roads. There are optional hero sections made up of rough woods roads for properly equipped bikes.

Clark’s Farm, 1034 Burt Hill Road, Tolland, MA 01034

One weekend before Roaming Rally. Great timing, this will be the warm up ride.

    Is it may yet?

I might be in for this. Would be a whole family thing in that case -- wife, and young'uns (9 & 10 y/o by May).

    Questions:

    * It says "primitive camping." Is there a nearby option for city folks with spoiled kids and a love of Lattes? :lol3

    * If we weren't gonna participate in the "big bike" ride, are there other trails laid out around where I could ride with the kids?

    Thanks! :beer

Not at the above campground. At the primitive camping area, there is a trail across the street that is difficult to say the least. We don't encourage folks to bring kids who are not riding as passengers to hang around and/or to ride at the primitive camping area. Prospect Mountain Campground has things for kids to do with adult supervision.

And only street registered bikes are allowed for this event.

Due to Massachusetts' ORV laws, all non-street registered bikes have to have ORV stickers and kids have to take a class. Because we partner with the local fire department for this ride, we don't allow any riding on or around the camping site with unregistered bikes. Some of the firemen play dual roles in this small town. A few are also the po-po.

    Thanks! :beer

Yes, for sure the main route is doable with a passenger. We had several last year.

In 2010 I did it 2-up on wee strom leading a group of a few proper dual sport bikes and one 1200GS. It's doable! There was a Gold Wing two up as well but I'm not sure was it bravery or stupidity on their part. That ride had to leave scratches and dents on the bottom of the wing

Hi, Just following up here ... unfortunately our insurance doesn't allow for any non-entrant riding at the start area or any roads/woods roads/trails associated with this event. In plain terms ... "No riding except entrants" and that also means no pit bikes.

Mass is a tough place to ride with kids these days. You would need to find private land where you know the landowner and get their permission or go to a sanctioned event for kids (ie Pee Wee HS or Jr Enduros or Family Rides) put on by motorcycle clubs.

Sorry, I remember riding with my Dad and all the land access we had in the good old days.

Sounds like a great ride, I am hoping to make it. How far is Prospect Mt. Campground from the event?
