After seeing Honda's underwhelming announcement, I'm just happy that there is at least one manufacturer making bikes with more than just "manageable" power! :clap Thanks Zuk!!!

I think anything would be speculation at this point. If its suzukis answer to the S10 that would be exciting. I fear it'll just be a large road bike with "adventure" plastics. Hope not though.

I've been subscribed to this thread for a while and I'm looking forward to seeing it take off with new information. I can't wait!!!

I think Suzuki might surprise people with its capabilities, just as much as the Wee does. Wait and see, but hopefully not much longer.

Suzuki has always done jacked up street bikes. It appears to be what is wanted at the moment. The tough ass take a lot of punishment and set up for unpredictable terrain does not really appeal to European reviewers either.

Jacked up nakeds is the new black. People who do 1000's of kilometers of bad roads, heavily loaded are few and far between but do exist it seems mostly in the US and southern hemisphere.

If they do do a "light weight frame" and fast steering geometry they will feel good on a test ride and in the street. That is what sells bikes. Like it or lump it.

Bikes set up to be stable, economical and tough, are generally seen as slow steering, lacking power and heavy.

So if it is a typical VStrom it should do OK. If they make the frame really light it should loose some of the top heavy feel as well, which probably had a lot to do with heavy sub frame and twin heavy mufflers up high and heavy fuel tank.

Whether it will now cope with accidents with heavy loads is another matter.

Just read through this whole thread.. I've never seen such whining about the looks of a bike.. Do you guys buy bikes to ride or stare at the them in the garage?

I'm 6'1" 195 my wife is 5'6" 120, we tour two up on our Vstrom 650E. Our riding buddies have much bigger bikes, but none are as capable, versatile or comfortable. But, the are all cruisers, except for another bike like ours.

As a XC owner of 10 months I think this is a great looking bike as well. I had a new DL1000 when they first came out11 years ago. Loved the bike but they were really kinda ugly. That v-twin was a good motor, more ducati-ish.

The honda 700 doesn't excite me at all. And the Versys is all road. The wee not enough umph.

I just can't understand why the big-four won't build a decent dualsport machine. :cry

When we are measuring something we are not committing to or concerned about we can be pretty discriminating.

When we really committing to something we can often change our ruler and make some compromises on looks based on price/performance.

Kinda in the same way as we measure our wives/gf/bf's vs the way we scrutinize porn stars.

I'm considering moving my RC51 from the garage to the living room, so I can stare at it...:defend

    Is that wrong? :evil

I just need to build some kind of drawbridge/ramp entrance, then I'll be set.
