1) personal preference. The sales numbers will tell. I, personally feel Polaris has dumped DUMPTRUCKS of cash into this, and still, will only sell a few copies. BIG loser, investment wise.
2)It's easy to make quiet pipes that meet noise regulations AND flow well... but they won't be COMPACT ENOUGH for a motorcycle. Compromise must be made... and styling rules, so flow is compromised.
3) same thing as loud pipes... self absorbed asses will blare them at stoplights. Others may just enjoy them in moderation.
I like the bike. I just don't think there are enough people who appreciate the Indian moniker to pay the bills.
NO. Government Regulations will not allow it.
Beauty is a relative thing, I personally think all cruisers look like throwbacks to the 1940s - i.e. a period distinctly lacking in style.
$24k can also buy this http://www.kia.com/us/#/sorento
but is it a better value?
Hey man...if I had to explain it, you wouldn't understand.
You may not like it but the 1940's were certainly not "distinctly lacking in style".
1947 Indian Chief
1947 Vincent Rapide
And there's plenty more.
Ummmmm. I think MOST would disagree.
No, but this is a better value, at ~$24,200:
Or, for less money than either the KIA or the motorcycle:
The forty's definitely lacked style.
Well....people were rather busy doing more important things during the first half of that decade.
Even so....style was in abundance during the latter half.
Ugly bathtub fenders, tasteless whitewall tyres, seats that look like they belong on a tractor, centre stands and girder forks that look like they belong on a baby's pram! etc., etc.. :eek1
Yep, you're correct - sadly there is plenty more.
An 1800+ cc engine puts the starting price at $15K for almost and brand.
Hard-side saddlebag lock control on the tank.
Wind tunnel tested, thumb adjusted fairing.
Here, this is from a mag review and will make it easier:
The PT Cruiser of motorcycles...
