Well there is the pre riding needed for the ride so i am training by pre drinking before the rally. Last thing I need is to not be drink ready.
As for drunk posts well cant do that right now, will try to try later when more training is needed.

Train hard my friend, train hard.

I am prepping for tomorrow morning gold medal game myself.

Ottawa rejected the request to open pubs for fans to watch the game, claiming 7am is too early to open pubs? :puke1

I think the request should have been to not open early Sunday, but to stay open later Saturday.....:freaky

Yes, the forecast is a bit bleak for this spring.

Mud, rocks, sand and snow...no obstacle to hard for Roaming Rally :D

LOL!...although I share your enthusiasm for challenging obstacles, I am genuinely concerned about the deeper parts of the trails not being passable. Large and deep water crossings are one thing....but 2ft of snow over kms of trails is quite another. Don't mean to rain on the parade (well...maybe that might help:lol3) just trying to get a sense of what others are thinking and if there might be some contingencies in place should mother nature bend us over this season.
I've also been thinking of the camping situation. I've dne my fair share of winter camping, but never where I was soaked to the core....which i think we can all agree we will be at the end of a days RR riding. I am seriously concerned about me man bits when putting on next-to-frozen riding pants in the mornings!:happay< That's me trying to warm up me pants in the morning

We have briefly discussed the what if scenarios....decided to wait another month before giving it serious attention as a couple of warm days with rain can easily change things pretty quick. Still a bit too early to give it too much consideration...but yes the topic has come up :thumb

Keep in mind we have to pre run....so it is more of a concern for us that the actual rally date :nod

I wonder how those paddle tires they use in the desert work in deep snow? They'd certainly be sub-optimal on the pavement and gravel roads...

Funny...I can feel "spring" in the air for sure....but the temps are not rising. Very odd. But yeah...I feel a change a comin' for sure....I have a mountain of parts ready to go, as does my buddy who's got a bunch of suspension work to do on his 650 Dakar.

Now...if it would warm up a bit, I could get in the Gee-raj and get to work!

Juames...have you run those Eo7's before? If so...what did you think ?They look mighty similar to the Heidy K60's.

I have not run e-07's yet, but have read reviews saying they are a bit better in the dirt that the K60 and last as long. I had K60 on prior to these and didn't like them at all. I have run e-09 Dakar and C-17 StoneEater combo on the 640 and really liked them.

    Time will tell...

I realize we have different bikes, but I sure didn't like the K60's either.

I was wondering... Those EO7's look a lot like the K60's, so I was worried as I heard the same. Considering the likely conditions we're gonna be facing this year, I don't think the K60's would be a wise choice....Mud, mud and more mud....and then some more mud.....mud with some water...water with some mud....maybe some snow and mud:rofl:rofl
