I write my congresscritters a couple of times a year, usually get a real reply thanking me for my input.

Damn near went full commando lanesplitter today. It's hot, crawling and I see that ribbon of unused asphalt beckoning.

Can we vote with our throttles?

Keep poking them, we will win.

Did that this morning. Drizzly rain, cool air, feathering the clutch in first gear, blech. A bit of clear pavement from northgate down to seattle in the express lanes gave me a taste of freedom. When traffic clogged again on the ship canal bridge, I split the rest of the way to Seattle. No one seemed to mind. :asta

Keep in mind that Congress has nothing to do with Washington State lane splitting laws.
The Washington State Legislature controls revisions to the Revised Code of Washington (and in this case, specifically RCW46.61), Congress has no power to touch that.

I got a positive reply from Harmsworth despite checking the "no reply needed" box.

    C-n-P my email:

    Sir,
I commute by motorcycle from Silver Lake to North Boeing Field every day. Today (like other days) traffic was at a crawl and I was stuck in the mess with a perfectly good ribbon of asphalt ahead of me that I can't use.
In my 30 years with Boeing I've traveled to many countries where lane splitting/filtering is the norm. It's safe, efficient and reduces congestion.

Please consider supporting lane splitting legislation.

    End C-n-P

Checked the "no response required" box on all three messages. Mark was kind enough to reply.

Heck Nessman, Clibborn wouldn't even let it come up in committee even though the Senate passed it.
Abuse of power, sure, but who's gonna stop her?

Tried to contact her via the WA Legislature page, wouldn't let me because I'm not in her district. I did annoy my three critters again.

Knock yourselves out! If you click "response requested" on the first contact it'll automatically ask if you want to bother your other reps as well. Easy-peasy.

sent off support comments to my reps... included a good video on lane splitting as a link.

Biggest problem will always be the people who vote on this stuff are not riders, so in typical uneducated fashion, they vote with a biased view influenced by the hooligans out there.

There is a $35 tab initiative petition going around Pierce county. I signed it.

That's because most people hate or are afraid of freedom.

I'd love to see lane filtering and splitting legal by January.

Even if the Legislature supported it (and they don't), it would not be possible to pass the required legislation until at least March.
