This event is for "GS Giants", "Dirty Dozen Riders", "Wankers", "PARS", "Sand fleas" and basically everyone with a dual sport bike. We will have 5 routes on Saturday the "Big Day".
An Adventure Route for Big Bikes - GS's, KTM 990's
We expect an A group and a B group

We will have Dual Sport Classes of "A" "B" and "C" These groups may also be divided depending on numbers. The expectation is that the Dual Sport Classes will be the smaller bikes. Please note there may be "some' sand. :D

Rally Fee: There is No Fee
    [IMG]
This front Page will be updated with details as they get ironed out. Look here first for any up to date information. We expect to have most of the logistics the same as past years. As always we plan to do things differently when the other way sucked. :rofl:1drink
The State Park has Cabins for rent from $65 to $100 a night. They have RV and Tent Camping for $20 a night. 2 tents are allowed per site. If you are just coming for the day there is a $5 fee. The do have an area to park your trailer or extra cars as well.

For those that might be new to this event, there are several State Forests in the area in addition to Ocala National Forest.

GPS Routes: There will be rides lead out on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Saturday is the big day of riding. We will have GPS routes for those interested in getting routes in advance. We will have an Adventure Route and possible 2 or more Dual Sport Routes for A, B and C. The routes may be different (which is our plan) to avoid congestion and trail deterioration. You can read this to mean that the B & C riders prefer to avoid axel deep ruts. If you want a route emailed to you please PM me your email address. Specify which route you want. Then wait. I will wait until the last minute (like Monday before event) to mail them out. The reason for this is our past experience. We develop what we hope are interesting routes. Then we ride them before the event. What we have found, is that just before the event we have a Noah type rain storm that puts our selected trail underwater. Or, a neighbor starts shooting at us or some other reason where the route has to be changed. However the most likely reason is that "Bill" found a new "place" he wants to add in the day before the event. Anyway you hopefully get the idea. :lol3

There will also be a Sport Touring/Street Ride. That we will not have a GPS route for and it is all street. Our ride leader for this ride has done an excellent job in past years. He does not do GPS and can't really remember where he is going to go, so you will just have to follow. It will be a good time is his only objective. :D

    The Saturday Rides

Adventure A Group and B Group

Dual Sport A Group B Groups maybe divided into 2 or 3 groups as well as C Groups will be divided into 2 or 3 groups.

    Group Definitions and Reasons
We encourage everyone to ride at their own pace. "Some" think safety is important. In order to increase the enjoyment for all we divide all into a group of riders with similar riding styles and interest. This is not a statement of ability or anything negative.

Group A is for those that ride "fast" by some folks definition. The A Group does not fall down or need to rest much. Basically "racers" If you are even wondering if this is a group for you, then this is not your group.

Group B is for very good riders who rarely fall. This pace may be as fast as Group A but tends to "smell the roses" more.

Group C is for normal "human" riders. We have been known to fall a time or two. We do not have any expectations of pace for this group. It will be whatever is comfortable for the folks that show up.

Adventure vs dual sport, typically adventure refers to bike size. Meaning big GS's and KTM 900+, and whatever other big brands. The Adventure Routes are intended to be able to be handled by bigger bikes. That does not mean you can not ride a smaller bike on the adventure route.

Route difficulty - Most difficult is A route, then B, C (these are targeted to smaller bikes) and then Adventure Bikes (A Group will be a very challenging ride on Big bikes) Adventure B Group will be for most seasoned Big Bike riders.

Introducing this year a "Young Adventure" ride for what we will call a "learning sand" ride. This group will be for folks that are new to sand. Whether you are on a small bike or a big bike, but have not had much sand riding experience, this is your group. We will be focusing this ride on spending more time on the least sandy routes. We will also spend time on learning how to ride sand, by riding in sand. This group will be adaptable to who shows up and the progress we experience. The intent is to have a fun day. The assumption is we will not have many people come to the rally who have never ridden a motorcycle before. However, there will be folks new to riding off road in sand. So will we plan to have a fun day without too much panic and pain.

Also a pure Street ride being the least difficult (with regards to sand).

I'm new to the area. I have some sand riding experience (none of it good). I would like to hang out with the adventure riders on my XR650L because I'm old and slow. Do I need reservations or can I just show up.
