Do ya remember when the grand national champ was somebody? Will they ever wake up and bring back novice, junior and expert. We want road races in the series too. Production engines only Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's never going to happen. No novice ,junior ,expert and never road racing added.
I do have to agree that the HD novice class at Springfield is the biggest joke of the year.... 883's , Really ? I was at Bartels when the first ones were born and all I could think is this is " one big pile of crap" !!
Bad news, last night we lost a 10 year old racer at the Lodi cycle bowl. GOD SPEED ZADEN FLOREY
Every dealer is different, maybe I just had a bad run with the two Harley people I talked to on the phone; just didn't sit well. I'm glad you had good luck with them and always good to get a problem fixed for $free.99 no matter what the name on the tank says. If you see a battered and beat-up blue fz1 that looks like a rolling suit case that will be me.
Always sad news when a child loses their life, hate it happened while racing. Thought this happened Saturday night?
You are right and the young mans name was Florez not Florey. Thanks for your correction on the date.
LOL, I see hating Harley as akin to hating the Patriots or the Yankees, envy in disguise.
Let me put it to you this way, if hardley was the only motorcycle manufacturer I'd buy a Miata
Cut off your nose to spite your face...........
Goodbye Springfield. It has been a good 25 years. My $$$ will be spent elsewhere on Labor Day this year. You made a huge mistake not running a Legitimate support class.
Thank the steel shoe Gods for Steve Nace!!! I live 90 miles from the Daytona infield tunnel and since the DIS nitwits fuk'd up racing there during Bike Week I will not spend ten cents there. The Volusia Speedway Park for the last many years Steve Nace has run his awesome series there the 1st weekend of Bike Week. 20$$ on Sun 15$$ on Mon. Wife, me and the Chihuahua's get there early Sun. pull in the camper in outside turn one set up and have a great day of flattrak'n!! most all the pro kids are there plus a lot of the old geezers. Aldana still a class act and in between action you can walk/ride into the pits and BS with all. After the races drive the camper down to the west end of the property and camp there and do it all again Mon. this is how it should be. Thankful for Fans Choice but the video and sound are crappy (A&V for car races are fine) and BUBBA WTF!!! Agree with ya about Lock and Steve is to smart to get in bed with current regime pukes running Flat T
Think I will reserve judgement on the current state of affairs at Springfield until seeing how this shakes out . The "Mile" has been the spiritual home of dirt track racing for years . Other tracks and promoters come and go , Springfield endures . This might be an awful decision , time will tell , but I refuse to give up on that venerable place just yet .
Hey, don't give up on Springfield, they're not houligans, if they can get enough of those XRs out of storage you will see a good race, I know a few of the Singles riders are making calls now.
The GNC2 twins riders put on two of the most competitive races at Springfield last year. It will give them another chance to show their skills and gain some more experience on the worlds best dirt track, some of them will probably move up to twins soon.
The 883s will get sorted out quickly.
Why oh why is it Harley only? Is the 883 even in this class?
So Harley can say they won springfield Seriously, I'm sure it's to draw the usual Harley crowd, there are riders out there that won't go to a race if they can't see Harleys. I know it sounds crazy, but I know some of them. Same reason you don't see a lot of Harleys at a motogp race, great racing, one of the greatest forms of motorsport, but no 'potato potato" going around, so nothing to cheer about.
No points associated with it so no significant participating field IMO.I won't be there.Looks like the 3 Indians will also win everything as well. AFT is killing it's Major league series IMO.Many bad decisions.
This one can't be blamed on AFT. It has to do with the promoters, and the promoters only.
Bikerfish has it right. The HD support class is just another effort to attract the non-race fan HD rider/owner. This seems to be the holy grail of flat track organizing bodies. Their thinking must be "if only we could get the "bikers" to come to the races, we would be all set". From the AMA making rules to favor HD, the 883s, and now the HD support class, it has been going on for a long time. If the IMDA is like most state's dealer associations, it is dominated by American heritage cruiser oriented dealers, so it's what we get at Springfield.
