Registration is open on BITD.com for the V2R.
I've raced it about 7 or 8 times but I'll be Iron manning it for the first time this year.

    Anyone else in?

    In!
If plans work out we'll be racing Open Expert on a new YZ450FX, the fallback bike is my CRF450X.
Hopefully I won't mess up our speed average too badly :D

I'm on a CRF 450X. I've been doing basic gym work to prepare and pre running the Mojave Road from Afton Canyon to Laughlin and back. later this month we're running that route there and back, twice which is about 550 miles. I found that filling my camel back with ice, then a bottle of coconut water, gatorade, and topping off with water is a great mix for staying hydrated.

Come on out Mike. If you don't catch a ride with Shawn, you can ride with us. The guy I've been teaming up with over the last 8 years is also riding it solo, but we're going to try to stick together as much as we can.

Just saw that bikes have to run a tracker this year, which is new, and adds $200 to your race budget for rental of the unit only.
Don't want anyone to get to registration and be surprised!
You also need to mount the unit so its probably best to get it done in advance, rather than in the hot parking lot before tech.

Oh and by way of Chip's post, my main teammate had to back out this year so I'm working on alt plans, in case anyone is looking to team up or needs a rider, give me a shout.

I am working on a mount at this time.
will be BETTER then my Stella mount for Score

At this time only for under bar mount stabilizer or NO stabilizers
But you could Modify it for over Bar stabilizer
I will post a pic here and a link for the cost as soon as it get backs from a test run this weekend

Waiting on this racetrax thing to arrive. I guess they are working on some different gopro style mounts. Kinda of a bummer.

Email'ed with David from RacingTrax. Motos/Quads will use the Alertrax device and the device won't be available until tech/contingency. He suggested printing out the foldup mockup found on the website for fitment before then. It's self powered so it doesn't need to be wired up to the bike, like the RaceTrax unit. I don't particularly like the GoPro mount they suggest.

This is on our 450x the head light needs to be spaced out a bit your front brake cable needs to NOT get hung up on it they would like it to sit at a 45 that is the hard part
I am still working on a better mount. But in the end All racers will be safer !

nice. where did you get a unit ? unfortunately, that's where my odo and GPS already sits... does anyone know if we still need the transponder for scoring ? pretty soon we will need a navigation tower ;-)

It's Vegas To Reno so Mark is getting the kids bike ready to utilize 2 steering stabilizers ;-)

Question @Baja Dad Mark - WHY are you not doing the "under" brake hose route like before?

Pretty much every tracking/proximity device handlebar classes have been forced to run for marked course races (score/bitd) has been goofy and obviously designed by car people. I'm not impressed.
Why score/bitd doesn't give RallyComp a shot is byond me.

I am working on mounts for Racing trax to hopefully fit most bikes
Yes the scoring transponder is still needed.( look close it is mounted under the Tracker.)

Sorry to hear that! Looks like you may have to hang it out in the air off a Ram Mount
