Had a great time last year out at East Fort Rock (aka China Hat), so let's try it again. The good riding season is slowly slipping away, so let's make plans to make another "Last Chance" trip out there. Looks like availability for past riders is all is all over the place, this is exactly one day earlier than last years, event and that worked out, and most importantly, the date works for me, so there!

    Who: You!
What: Meet up with ADV riders and ride Trails/visit/camp.
When: Friday Nov 10th - Sunday Nov 12th
    Where:
Road 25 Staging Area East Fort Rock OHV Area (52 min SE of Bend Oregon) Note: Not the 2510 staging area, the "Road 25 Staging Area" (43.786062, -121.030585)
Why: Ride East Fort Rock's wonderful trails, hopefully dodge the wet weather on the other side of the cascades, talk bikes (and trash), share an adult beverage. Lots of Dual Sport / ADV riding in the area as well.
How: Either trailer out a small bike, or ride your adventure bike and camp. Hell, even just drive a rig, if you just wanna hang out.

This is not an official event, there will be no host, prizes, sag wagon or collections (Farm Rules). You are responsible for yourself and your camping needs, but the staging area is huge plenty of room for all. If you decide to drive a rig, and can grab a tote/bundle of firewood from home it will help. Bring a beverage you can share, and your own food to cook. This will be much like the Crooked River camp out, except you can ride trails right from the campsite!!! If somebody wants to do more organization on food, rides, carpooling post it up on this thread and go for it. I'll be pulling my toyhauler with a small bike for this one. The last few years we set up at this exact spot and it was perfect...43.786062, -121.030585 (Paste that into Google Maps). There is a fire ring and picnic table there.

East Fort Rock has trails appropriate for Adventure Bikes to get some trail riding under their belt, and other trails that will challenge more advanced riders. It's all well marked. It seems like a good place for a novice/beginner to learn to ride also, so no excuses. See the COHVOPS newsletter for the latest information and EFR trailmaps.

Heavy Snow, Heavy Rain or Arctic Cold front, may cancel the camp out (or at least THIS rider), but it had better be EPIC. Even in "good" weather, expect cold temperatures at night so bring the "winter bag" or extra blankets etc.

Nope, no water at Road 25 Staging area. Bring what you will need to survive. Although there are vault toilets so that helps... :jive

I will try to rally a couple of the local inmates to make it out there this year. We need some rain before then or it will be dry out there.

By all means show up Thursday and show me where to ride! I won't be rolling in until later on Friday night, unless I somehow can convince the boss I need another day off after taking all of next week off (doubtful).
