Thanks for the hot tips guys! I'm gonna blend right in with the locals
Well, I'm in.
Don't know what bike I'll be on, but I'm in.
... Damn I shouldn't have been eating so much pizza for the last 4 months.
... Ok, last two decades...
How many stage miles was this event last year?
Regs say it'll be more, but still a lot of TBD items on the list.
More importantly, how long is the longest stage? Asking for, uh, a friend who hasn't bought an aftermarket tank yet.
I just about ran out at sandblast. Damn 2 gallon tank.
Plan B at sandblast was in transit fueling.
These stages all looked short from the 2014 regs...
Does anyone have last year's routebook?
I have the sup regs from 2016 and can email if someone wants to look at them.
Longest leg was 73.18 miles.
Longest stage was 8.27.
Shortest stage was 3.26
Total stage miles 61.01
Total transit mileage 130.8
As long as nobody else signs up, Gavin, Orion, and myself are sitting pretty good (only 3 bikes signed up right now)!
I'm totally willing to take the win over a guy on the couch.
The only way to win is for nobody else to play the game. I'm pretty sure that's how that famous quote goes.
I just entered so now there will at least be a battle for a podium spot.
Well after a successful rally Saguenay, I may sign-up for Black River. Just looked on the map and it's less than a 3 hour drive! Bonus!
Some hard negotiations will have to take place in the upcoming days with the family chief council.
And Ryan, you guys blended in just fine, no beret required.
Come on down, but bring your dancing shoes because
and it's fast AF. Sometimes I hit 35 in the straights.
I even heard Orion is planning to run tires with tread on them for this event...
How's the camping situation for volunteers? How are the bugs this time of the year?
iirc bugs weren't too bad.
We camped right at the gun club/rally central last year for free.
bring extra rain gear, extra gas not so much
What about extra tires?
If you, or someone you know, already has a rear slick, then I'd recommend cutting a rain groove.
I heard there's an occasional rain shower in NY at that time of year.
