I think electric bikes will be huge for MX/SX in the years to come. Not necessarily at the highest levels but across the country. I think a lot of folks have a visceral reaction to loud bikes spewing exhaust (for the folks reading this thread, I bet it's "AWESOME!") and to the extent you can take away one of the primary objections and add just the idea that these are basically like prius bicycles (however true that may or may not be...) I think you're going to end up with fewer courses getting shut down. It doesn't solve the question of liability, but nobody's complaining about downhill MTB courses in the same way they complain about MX tracks and there's definitely a reason for that. Anyway, I'm pretty curious to see how they do.
