    TRANS FLORIDA ADVENTURE RALLY
    MARCH 11TH, 12TH
    A CADS EVENT
This is an overland adventure Rally. This is a GS Giant Event which is designed with big bike in mind. We travel from the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday to the Gulf of Mexico. Then on Sunday we return on a different route on as much dirt as we can find. This year we will begin in Crescent Beach ride to Cedar Key. We spend the night there and return to Crescent Beach on Sunday. We will have challenge options for those more adventurous. These options will be more difficult may can be avoided by staying on the main route. This is the first weekend of bike week and intended to give folks coming to bike week a chance to actually ride their bikes.

On this Adventure you will be following a Route Sheet (meaning you will need a Route Sheet Holder). As part of the fun, we will have ways to win points. The Top Points leaders in each Division will get one of the coveted Trophies. The way you get points is to take pictures at certain points described in the route sheet. Also for posting up pictures on this site. Also by taking certain challenge routes on the ride.

    Trophy Classes
    Class A 1000cc +
    Class B 640- 990cc
    Class C 250-630cc
Class D Classic 1997 and older

Friday Night Dinner will be at Panama Hatties on St. Augustine Beach at 7:00pm. We will have a table upstairs on the deck for those coming in early.

We will meet up Saturday Morning at the Crescent Beach Park at 7:45am. The Park is at the corner of Cubbadge Rd and A1A just south of SR 206. We will hand out roll charts and have you sign up for your Trophy Class.
The "Game", for those new to this type of adventure we also play a game. Your challenge is to follow the roll chart route. It would be easy if we just said everyone meet us in Cedar Key for dinner. Following the path we have designed for you is quite a different task. So we have locations marked in the roll chart where you verify that you were on route. You simply take a picture of yourself or bike at that location specified. There will usually be an object of interest involved, however in the woods it can simply be a "sticker on a log" or whatever. Each verification picture is worth 10 points. You can earn additional bonus points along the way as well. Those arriving at the end of the Rally on Sunday turn in their points. Those scoring the most points in their class will receive one of the "coveted" Trophies. You keep track of your points and report them. The top three scores in each class will then be audited for accuracy.

Bonus Points- If you post up on this thread a picture of your bike during the ride on Saturday 5 points for each photo, max 2 pictures. Sunday you get 10 points each max of 2 pictures. There are also 5 points available for pictures on your way to the Rally on Friday or before that are poste up to this thread.

Extra Bonus Points - 10 points for wild life and your bike. 10 points for pictures of your buddy whose bike has "fallen asleep", must be real events not staged. 10 points for pictures of your bike on any water crossings. Crossing that are not on the route taken while you are lost also count :evil

Dinner Saturday Night is at 7:00pm at the Away From the World Café, this is located on the water on the main "Strip".

Sunday Morning we will meet at Annie's Café where you can pick up Sunday's route sheet.

We finish where we start. Across the street from the Park we meet at in the morning is an Irish Pub. You will be able to eat drink and be merry. We plan to hand out trophies and your official "finisher" stickers there. I will point out this place at our meeting Saturday morning. It will be a great place to kick back and tell your stories of great adventures. Time for everyone to be at the finish is 5:30, if your points are not reported by 6:00pm you missed out.

Places to Stay in Cedar Key - There is the Angler's RV for those that like to camp. Cedar Key Motels were hit hard by the last Hurricane. Gulfside Motel is closed for remodeling. Beachfront Motel 352-543-5308 is one we have stayed at before, they lost 14 rooms in the storm. They expect them to be opened back up by our event. So rooms may become available that are not open now. Air BNB maybe another option. There are a lot of Condo's in the are that are empty that may have rooms available on Air BNB and the like. This is the website for camp ground. www.anglersrv.com

    Rally Fee - None

Double in! I'm so mad about being injured for Polar Bear, I might head over to Crescent Beach right now and just wait.

Sounds like a fun trip on the GSA. How's the terrain for a GSA noob offroad? My 530 would need multiple stops for oil!!!!

Looks like PAR may be doing another Trans-Panhandle gumbo ride to meet up with you all in Steinhatchee (Or Cedar Key it looks like) again this year. Can't wait for the seafood and late night shenanigans again :photog.

Something like this. Mounts to the handlebar with either a hose clamp or RAM mount.
