    Agreed.

    Back in the summer I was working on a thread where we could predict the next ADV Bikes for 2017.

    When I got to Suzuki, I looked over the GW250F specs and flipped out over the wet weight. 416lbs. 188kgs.
    No way Suzuki lies about their bikes weight. What an embarrassment.

    This bike will be a complete failure in the USA, if she makes it here.

    Granted, in other civilizations, this bike would be a great transpo.

    My answer is that I do not have the first damn clue.

    The engine seems to be set up for torque
    16.3lbs @ 6500. Which would be worth looking into if the bike was 350lbs, not 400lbs +.

    I do not think the U.S.A. will be seeing this bike in 2017. If it makes it here I'm guessing Suzuki will at least up it to 300cc. Personally I think the bike is set up more as a city bike as it sits but it could easily be a great dirt road,two track or fire road bike. I get that's not what some folks here want but for the life of me I do not get the fascination with the V300 with its max torq all the way at 9000 rpm it seems to make it cumbersome to use off road.

    NO more cumbersome than any other adventure bike. Its light, has enough motor. I rode EVERYWHERE and put about 50,000kms on my 88 xr200. NOT a torque monster by any means. But had enough to get anywhere off road.....and could peg 105km/h on the black stuff. Having MAX torque at 9000rpm really DONT matter. When do you PEG your bike off road trying to navigate obstacles. I never used max torque or HP only on open roads. rider skill will get you through just about anything.......on anything......That being said.....Zuk should have make it a 300....

    Kwak and Honda have a different crank setup for US and Asian markets, allowing them different capacities out of what is essentially the same engine in EX250/300 and CBR250/300. IMHO if Suzuki wants this bike to succeed in NA market they need to strock this engine to 320-350cc. 324cc, half of DL650 would give it enough power for interstates and would look good in comparison to competition

    How about a bore increase to 67cc?
    COG would not be affected.
    390cc. Keep weight to 400lbs-420lbs in the ADV MOdel
    Set up engine so personality to be more torque than HP.
    So consumers can get a 35 HP bike with equal torque at lower rpms than the Honda 471cc. (31.7 lb ft torque delivered at 7,000 RPM.) Maybe 3,800 - 4,200rpm.

    Dl650 is very close to 70hp. So the consumer can double their horse power with the $9,200+ XT.

    DR200
    DR400
    DR650
    GW400 XXT 21" front. 18" rear.
    DL650 XT
    DL1000 XT

    That's a solid fleet. We could fill the huge gap between the DL650 and DR650.
    They need to fill that gigantic hole. It's disturbing.

    Wow. That's a very long stroke for such a small piston. So it must have some decent low end torque compared to most 250 twins. Probably doesn't rev nearly as well either. I can't see stroking it, but if there's room left between the pistons, they could do a big bore version. The problem being the thickness of the wall between the cylinders. That's probably a better engine for a mini-beast than the Ninja engine, too bad it's not in a lighter and more interesting bike.
