I figured there would be a round on this side of the pond again in 2017, so I went digging and found a reference to a July 29/30 date in Kingman, Arizona. I went on the CAT site to see if there were any details, but didn't see anything.

Does anyone know anything definitive ? Would be a nice excuse for a longer road trip.

    Cheers

Do not know when the FIM makes official dates for the world rounds. Until then it`s probably 90% plus a go.

Depends on elevation and if you brought enough cold ones. I will be scoring.

The site is almost 7000' elevation. Up in a pine forest. The weather up there will be nice.
Now if you are in Phoenix, it will be 110+ and sucky.

And half an hour on pavement off I-40, and a couple hours from Las Vegas. The venue is a whole state park with cabins and big parking lots and campgrounds. And a very fine pile of boulders in the gulches and on stupid-steep hillsides. Word is that we club members can work one day and watch the other-- that's good. I only saw two sections of the Nationals last year.
And we get monsoon rains July thru Sept. It could actually be muddy!

    Good stuff. It sounds promising.

Now the decision will be to make the 3,400km (one way) ride in the heat , or put up with being squished into the middle seat on a flight to Vegas.

    Thanks for the info.

Any new word on definite dates for the 2017 World Trials in Arizona? Trying to make plans for a adventure moto trip through western states next year and wanted to include this Trials event in tour.

WTC has a new promoter in Sport 7, so it will be interesting to see. They are talking about repeating multiple years at the same venues, so maybe there will be a US round in AZ for a few years?

So locals, anybody familiar with this area ? Do you need a reservation? Which camping loop is closer to the sections? Pulling a trailer ok? Planning to come down from Idaho and stay Wednesday to Sunday. Would it be worth it to bring bikes to play around or is that allowed when the big boys are in town?

At the Prescott Trial today Mike said there is a block of hotel rooms reserved along with dry and hook-up camping.

Apparently waiting on FIM to create a schedule.

Mung, Todd Roper said that the outta state folks are checking on Saturday, the Arizona people are checking Sunday. Five checkers per section. So the way to fit in is to get on that list, when it comes out. Dry camping is not going to be as hard as hookups. Advantage will go to people wanting services for five days, versus folks wanting overnight stays: the club has got some bills to pay... All the camping is close enough. Definitely bring your bike (pending somebody shutting that down...) CAT has apparently reserved ALL the cabins, hookups, and dry camps at Hualapai Park, and a large block of hotel space (in Kingman?) which will mostly go to teams and officials. There's more to Kingman than that, but I don't know if reservations for dry camps at the site are on hold until CAT releases them?
