Is that from the Chamber of Commerce? :rofl

It's hotter than hell there in July. In fact, it's usually hotter in July than in June just about everywhere in the SW. :nod

This is currently near record breaking heat all over around here. I'm just hoping that it moves out and doesn't settle in for the summer.

I'm going regardless and will have great time. :nod

Agreed, the option of a hotel with a pool was top of my list! Glad I booked early.

If you have never watched a World Round in person, it is a bucket list item for all trials enthusiasts.

111 degrees??!!!!!! Kingman can't really be that hot, can it? It will be like standing on the sun. That city shouldn't exist. It's a monument to man's arrogance

111 isn't that bad. The last time I was in Scottsdale it was 120 plus. Don't worry, it's a dry heat :imaposer

Guys, I'm a Kingman local. The park is up at 6000ft plus. Should be nice and cool (in the 80s?) up there for the event.

Kingman is around 3500ft elevation. It'll be warm in town.

So, if it is 110 in town, what would the expected temp be up there? We just rode in the mountains at 8,000' and it was in the 90s. Do-able but warm.
For reference, it was 100 at 5,000' yesterday in Albuquerque, so we got a 10 degree drop for 3,000'.
What this all means is; I have no idea! :rofl

I can't wait for the event and am getting stoked up!

Can't look at Kingman for temps. Too much elevation change. The weather at the trials site is about the same as Flagstaff if you really want to compare. That's the elevation everyone in Phoenix escapes to for the weekend homes. Flagstaff, Pinetop, those are up in the 7000' altitude in pine trees. Bring a jacket, the morning can still get pretty cool. And a monsoon storm is completely possible at that time as well. Shouldn't have to worry about dust, but the rain can get intense at times. Generally short lived storms.

I've been signed up to check for some time now. I have gotten zero emails about what is going on. I thought things were just being quiet, or am I missing a bunch of information that I would be getting?

There are some interesting things going on with the rules. Check out Trials Central world champiobship Forum. Casales recieved a 20 point penalty last week for his minder being in a section the day before the event.

Yet Toni's minder can wash off the mud on the rocks in the middle of an event w/o a un-sportsmanship penalty?

Ambient temperature decreases about 4 deg F for every 1,000 ft. increase in altitude.

So, if Trials site is 3,000 ft higher than town, it should be about 12 degrees cooler than Kingman.
