Had a great time meeting everyone and riding with Mrmagoolin and littlepossum even if we got rather soaked! Hope to see you all next year!
Will try to upload more pics as soon as I get them off my camera.

    Saturday Ride to Dug Bar

As part of the Wallowa Jamboree in Enterprise, OR this past weekend, I take a ride out to Dug Bar with some riding buddies. My wife and one of the other riders attempted to ride out to Dug Bar last year but ran out of time and a thunderstorm moved in. Just like this ride it rained but his time we had rain suits. I think there is even a rain blurred cameo of littleposum at the end as we ride back through Imnaha.

Friday was so nice at the Joseph City Park
    [IMG]

We were hopeful it wouldn't rain despite the forecast and the clouds. Started out dry.

Pretty this time of the year
    [IMG]

    Timeout at the bridge
    [IMG]

More of a timeout than one rider wanted. Got it sorted out in short order and we continued
    [IMG]

Some kind of turbo jet engine pontoon boat I think:lol3

The raft people do not know how to keep a tidy camp
    [IMG]

It was starting to rain a little harder now. Didn't start raining until we started our descent into the canyon
    [IMG]

I think the far end of this cement gangplank fell into the water. How you suppose to make anyone walk the plank if they don't splash when they hit the water?

OK, it got a lot wetter on the way back
    [IMG]

Little break on 39 on the way home. Skies were still leaky.

Wish I could have met more of you all this trip but it was a quick one day'er for me.

That sure looks like the tree the rattle snake lives under.

Wonder if the raft people met the snake ?

Maybe that's why nobody was around?

As cold as it was, in the 50's I think (before it started raining) we did see rattl'r Jake or Jakett but in the middle of the road half way up after the bridge before we started the descent. I was surprised to see him or her as the sun was not shining. He didn't announce his presence to our trespass and was very quiet. Not sure if he was sleeping or not but he wasn't there on our return.

To all the thank yous you are all very welcome, my pleasure. It's always so much fun seeing everyone.

Slowjoe said something that's going to stick for this event. "It's just like a big family reunion on motorcycles without all the bickering." That's perfect! Everyone is like family and each year we get to meet more family.

The Admiral, thanks for making the effort to come into the office to say hello. I sort of had myself stuck and unable to get out to visit with you for a bit but at least I got a hello.

DiggerD when I saw the pic of the camp under the tree I thought the same thing. There is a snake that lives under that tree, rattles and all.

Keep the pictures and stories coming. I sure do enjoy seeing them.

Ja. Fortunately not hurt. Only damage was broken side stand. Got it welded up yesterday, better than before.

Had a great weekend, the bike stuffing notwithstanding.

    A couple photos.

Digger and I had a great three days getting out to Enterprise. So, we were ready to get home. Friday morning ride to Redmond was great, 90 deg down to 50 and showers later in the day. Snuck over Hoodoo pass Saturday morning in the rain at 38 deg, it snowed two inches that night.
Some photos from the ride out. Lower part of Hess Rd, that's Klienschmitt Grade on the other side.

Like Zoob said,we had a great three days getting out to Enterprise. We stayed dry and not too hot or too dusty. I do need to make a quick access holster for my camera. Did not take near e-nuf photos. Did get one good one of Lake Billy Shinook, and some of the Snake. Had a great route Zoob came up with. Went thru Long Branch twice, and got grub from the Chuck Wagon twice. Met nice friendly locals both times at Long Branch. Long great talks....priceless. Ha...we were kicking back at the Imnaha fish hatchery when two 85 year old kids stopped to talk bikes. Cracked us up..telling m/c stories about bike wrecks..his bud crashed...got metal rods shoved up his nose..and the story teller was laughing the whole time..good times...ah... Thanx to Lbug Lady, and Brian family for a great time in Enterprise. :clap

Had 2 great days of riding there, then a great day drinking while it rained! :freaky
Had sunshine, blue skies, flowers, no-dust blasts down Zumwalt, hot/cold, million dollar views. Crossed paths with deer, turkeys (not you guys!) and many birds/ground fowl. :rayof

Followed by a blast of hail.
    "Why are we stopping?"
"Because it hurts less when I'm not riding!" :lol3

And of course crossed paths with good riders new and old. Did not fix a flat in the field this time, sure to happen next time.

Hard to take pics in an eastern Oregon hailstorm!

    Onward!

Pour yourself a bev and watch this, the toughest enduro on the planet (not Zumwalt Rd!)

Our turkey eggs have more reddish brown spots regardless of the breed.
    Eagle egg sounds super cool!

Well it could be a wild turkey egg. When we were trying to guess what it was, a Golden Eagle came to mind since they’re in the area. Googling a pic it looked close. But so does a turkey egg and there's a bunch of them in that area too.

    I'll help.
You know that you have to spend an 8-hour day, just to edit 2 hours of GoPro video,...or we won't wanna watch it, don'tcha?
