I was trying not to make any new enemies , I know all about the Faux Stock V Rod that didn't contain one single Harley part and had a Suzuki clutch.

If you look at MAG which has some control of Vance and Hines, you will see that MAG has interest in some long standing names associated with motorcycling. Makes me wonder where my allegiance lies. Maybe I should cheer for an Indian, not Indian brand, but a product of India!

I think Sammy Halbert made a bad move trying an HD for 2018. Does he think no Indian team would have him then? I figure any contender will be on an Indian FTR. Hope they are paying him a bunch to finish way back there. Could be the end of competitiveness for several teams. The FTR is the new XR... The FTR will just get better like the XR did and the rest will go away eventually. Just like the 1990s again. A 1 brand field.

You could build all of those off of a Royal Enfield Continental GT.

True, but a modern RE Continental GT still wouldn't perform as well as an original Gold Star........

    Just say in'

A Gold Star is truly an amazing engine that deserves it's reputation. And surprisingly docile starting with electronic ignition.

The frame works pretty damn good too considering it was BSA's first generation swing arm frame.....

I think the Yammie & Kawi could be competitive with some factory support. I wonder if the Ducati could be, too!

I've been around a long time! I remember the Bubba/Honda days when the H-D people said that the Honda dominance was going to kill flat track racing, no one would support the sport, especially fans. Well, all of us who read and contribute to this site are proof that some were wrong! We did not leave in the 1990s as we did not leave when H-D (yech) was dominating!

I'm fine. Thanks for asking. I'm in Northern California. I think our Southern California regulars are well south of the fires.

My thoughts are with those threatened by the wild fires. Some friends lost their house in the Santa Rosa fire earlier this year. Its devastating.
