    Certainly not from experience, but I would suggest MM is more akin to climbing Everest, not can I get up there in the fastest time.

    If you happen to do so then that’s a bonus - or - is the MM class morphing into a race also?

    Here you'd bet on two flies crawling up a wall so yep, everything's a race, even drinking a beer.

    Is mm not a race in a race? If it wasn't then why keep the score? :1drink

    As I understand the various noises coming out of the lp camp he's wanting a race, I'm keeping all his stuff for post Dakar so I have something left to wean me off this drug...

    And the countries that Dakar pa$$e$ through eh? Let's not forget that... :pope

    Spannering is what mechanic does, of course. What I say is that most people don't give them credit. Nether did I. Till I was called to the duty and lived it from inside. :eyes Nothing to do with the MM thing, just to show that the MM people are not only 'just spannering' the attention to detail and method should be exact. Otherwise the whole plan will fail. But not only in servicing, but in riding, you have to protect the bike gear if you do not have spares. But if you have, would you care? :scratch

    I respectfully disagree on your reduction comment. Boundaries exist in life and in our society. So in racing. Else, leave the engine rule out of the game. And let HRC create a 200Hp 450cc that needs an engine in every stage. Leave the MM to carry all the spares they want because prince Al whatever decided to race that class. Makes no sense. As too old just said, MM is getting the bike to the finish line. But if you have a new suspension every day, imo you have more chances of doing it. Yes, you can, but let's call that the MM$$ class or something. So the FOLLOWERS in Facebook, or the world can differentiate and understand the classes in a better way. Screw the $$ rule. But call them something different. Because they are. And from my experience, 90% of the people never knew that this could be done, 90% was 100% that ''all there is in that box'' was the way the class was.

    So maybe to an extent the same as the main event - but how many riders really go there seriously expecting to compete for a win, rather than just the finishers medal?

    And what does the third man do in a truck? Derooy is holding down something like 4th outright in his truck in that other race. Frigging madness!! :clap

    Hearing mutterings that britnell still has fork issues, a change of forks would hoist him out of mm if I understand the regs.

    Engineer/mechanic, whatever name one prefers. A guy savvy at throwing a spanner.

    Truck=3 guys for the job
    Car=2 guys for the job
    Bike= well, we all can do the math, don't we? :photog

    He is becoming a household name. I have been sharing all the vids on Facebook and today a friend who would never watch Dakar, said to me. " How cool,is that Lyndon bloke". She thinks he's cute too.

    He'd be fine if he paid for a spare set of fork legs to be carried in a truck.
