I did the South Park / Briggs Cabin run 2 years ago with Jimmy, et al. Knowing what I know now, I'll do it again, no hesitation. Biggest hurdle, me being old and out of shape, was physical conditioning. Even on a 250 trail bike, adrenalin and enthusiasm wears thin after 3 hrs of rock garden.

Start the cardio and weight training NOW if you plan on being Superman in March. Go visit your local OHV park and hit the whoops hard. Dont over-book your sightseeing and try to do the whole park in one weekend, DV aint going nowhere. Plenty to see next time around.

I agree.. last year we had some injuries come in and there wasn't any planning for this.. An ambulance is a little over an hour away at Furnace Creek and then another 45 min to Ridgecrest.. Quickest way is by private vehicle.. We are all responsible for ourselves however, having a plan when these things come up is a good start..

Great video and I agree about conditioning.
We rode it from the other way so UP the big rocky right hander after cabin.
Was riding a xt225 which I usually can go anywhere anyone can only slower.
Going up the hill, looped bike right over my head falling backwards. Kicked bike off, was OK but knocked the wind out of me and was knackered as came to Noob a week early and rode a lot everyday.
RED05 rode my bike up as I crawled 100 yards uphill.
    Get in shape!!
Be there a week early this year also so hope to do this trail, if it is open again.
    Let's ride!!

We have almost 200+ people signed up and only 79 have put any info into the SAR form.

This is for everyone's protection in the event of an injury it gives us a means to

    • Contact people if needed
    • track you via the provided link if we don't already know it
    • coordinate any recovery etc and have it delivered safely back home if able
So yes I am pimping this link and if you read this and know of others who have also signed up ping them to get their input done as well.

That poor lil' bike had quite a glorious life. It prob had 20 prev owners, none were nice to it. I sold it to a buddy who grenaded the engine within a week. It won me a raffle prize for the KLR with the most miles, 105K! Long live the lil' kicker!

Everyone is riding all day.. and asleep by 10. The most noise you'll avoid will be SNORING OLD MEN.

Ride coordination will be interesting. I do stuff like Titus and dirt tracks but 60 miles of washboard with a Marelli dash on a big DS and my fat arse ain’t exactly a recipe for enjoyment.

One loop I like to do that has a lot of road is AM to Dante’s View, Artists and Beatty via the quarry (this time) thence Titus and the crater. I’m sure i will do that loop this time as well - I know it’s cupcake - it’s still fun. So plenty for everyone.

Post #4 is updated with the most current info we have, with all the dibs, etc.
Starting tomorrow, I will start assigning everyone with no dibs a random spot. FYI.
