    Hi All,

Its been a minute or two since I have posted on here! I missed last year due to the birth of my youngest boy (think my wife was beeing a bit padentic abuot me being home!), however I will be joining again this year.
Same as the first year my father in law, how specifically got his licence just to do scrapheap will be joining as wel as my brother.

Currently rebuilding 1 or 2 TF185's we pulled out of my wifes uncles shed to get one good bike and I will be joining on my Z650 which mets scrapper requirements (hopefully whacking on a set of knobbies will be enough!!)

will post pics of the z650 and TF185 works in the scrapheap builders thread

    You blokes will know.....
I have pulled the front caliper of my MZ 250 and it needs a severe overhaul.
The earlier (disc brake ) models had a brembo but later ones like mine were fitted with a copy. I had a quick look on gumtree/ebay, locally to see if there was an early '80's bmw single pot calipers anywhere that may be cheaper than buying pistons, pins , clips and seals .

Then I got to thinking (always dangerous) brembos are fitted to many bikes and brembo copies are not all that unusual. I wonder if an old ducati or Guzzi caliper might fit my bike
    [IMG]

    EDIT :
Upon further research I found that pictured is an MZ copy of the brembo F08 p/n 20.3556.40 used in GP bikes in the 1970's and finding there way on to many European production bikes in the 80's : BM, Guzzis, Laverdas, Ducatis and more
And interesting cross reference chart here

Classic bikes magazine featured a guide to rebuilding these brakes a few years back

Gday Max. Something to consider also, KTM dirt bikes all have Brembo front brakes. Twin piston single sided. Common as.
