It was delicious, thank you for it!
A suggestion: Sell the next year RAC passes at a discount. 3 people I was with said that it was expensive, but if they were discounted at the event they'd've probably bought one - they'd just got done riding and having an excellent time, that's the perfect time to sell it to them.
They are the same price as an aoaa yearly pass. $75 cheaper than lost trails, and $225 cheaper than rausch Creek. So even at $175 it's a pretty good deal.

Thank you - and we are open to all suggestions - that is an awesome idea.
-but unfortunately -we have nothing to do with the yearly passes -
I agree with you, I'm not sure what that says to the hundred or so people that just paid full price for their pass though. Some paid even days before the event.
I thought him offering free passes for prizes was pretty generous. And they sold 43 passes, that's fantastic for a single day sale!
I could see his point , the closer you live to FRO the better the deal is for you.
That’s a great price for some one like me who lives 1 mile away, or even someone 2 hrs away but if you live 3-4-5 hrs away the less of a deal it is.
Maybe they could consider something like a CYA (10)% of the price of your DS Registration gets applied to the purchase of a yearly pass.
Just throwing it out there.
Holy crap what a difference a week can make. We had absolutely Perfect weather for the event! Sunday high in St.Clair is predicted to let be 30degF!
for the few that asked about the bar mitts on the red BMW GS...

That’s still warmer than last year!
Exactly. it's 3-4 hours for me, which means that it's going to be at least a 2-day event - I'm just not going to do 7-8 hours in the car for a day of riding. If I go I'm either sleeping in the back of the pickup, or getting a hotel at $80-$90. 4 of those and the $175 pass is $500.
but just to be clear! I'm not complaining, and I'm not grousing - I was just throwing out an idea.
Campground on premises....it's in the works!
I haven't looked at ADV for months, came upon this event and brought a friend up. I ride dirt bikes to get away from people, but it was fun to talk to some different people and check out all the vehicles. Lunch was first rate. Saw a friend who was a RO member and we did our own little ride. Great way to see what the RO site is all about and help out a charity. Thanks to all the organizers, everyone was very helpful.
I also think day passes are in the works for next year also.
I do a few organized events a year and this is my new favorite place to ride. I really liked being able to ride all day and never being more than a couple miles from my truck. I also liked not having to follow a set route and the ability to ride fun sections again. I would definitely go back if they offer day passes.
And you only experienced maybe 15% of the total land that's available for permit holders ! There are several more parcels of land with an even better trail system. There just wasn't enough Parking in those area's to support our Event!
We've talked about Maybe next year we do a " Dual Sport Route" and leave Darkwater area and Explore a bit more. ~80 mile loop out and back with a gas stop and lunch thrown in the middle! I'll bet we could give Hancock, Dabbers, RORR and a few other events a run for the best East Coast DS of the Year!
We love hearing this kind of feedback, especially considering we aren't some fancy organized, sanctioned riding club with dues and meetings. We're truly a group of enthusiasts that wanted to do something to genuinely give back to the community we ride in and thought this might be a fun way to do it.
Next year we'll have some great stuff in store for you, and keep an eye out for another event in Spring...
First year was fun and most of the stuff we learned from it was in the behind-the-scenes work that goes into it. This year we definitely learned a lot about the actual rides, the parking and the crowds. Next year we'll be really dialing it in and I have no doubt that we could make it a 2 day event with dirt bikes and adventure bikes on Saturday and ATV & SxS on Sunday. Then we can really do something special with a great dual sport route as well as single track.
Camping on site???!!
Sounds like you might have a new career. Sign me up.
A dual sport opens up so many options. A few weeks ago I rode across the dark water tract. Then 8 miles up 901 and hopped on the east side of the locust gap property, rode right into aoaa, had lunch at their vendor and rode back. You could also ride some other blacktop a d get to their trevortor part where they plan on putting in fro campsites..gaap racing is up there too with I think a direct connection to from their property I think to FRO. Get em on board as a sponsor and have a stop over there.. so many opportunities or ideas.
