    got it ;-)
I started my journey in Santiago de Chile and then i went to Valparaiso to get my bike. I found a biker hostel called http://villakunterbuntvalpo.blogspot.ch/ and there i found a good place to connect with other bikers and they supported me to do the customs things and after some days i got my bike new and healthy as it was at that time ;-)

as you always meet other bikers at gas stations i met a 58 year old isrealian guy somewhere near Osorno and we planned to meet in Puerto Montt to do the Carreterra Austral together....but before that i went to Petrohue and then the nothern part of the Carreterra back to Puerto Montt.

and i found These roads...and my F 800 GS had some work to do ;-)

Back in Puerto Montt i found Gabriel and took a cute hostel beside. It was run by a chilenian artist who has a husband from switzerland (which is my license plate - im german ling in switzerland) so i recommend Hostal Suizo ;-)

Yeah after agreat stay Gabriel and me began with the Carreterra taking some roads and ferries. Gabriel got a Little bit dirty in his face...he always rode behind with open helmet ;-)

he was doing the trip on a V-Strom with street tires so i had a lot of respect....

and now we all started to get dirty ;-)

the next day ended up shitty...Gabriel lost his rear brake because a bolt was broken and he had to proceed 50 km to the next small village with just the front brake..pretty tricky on dirt roads.
And i got a shower with an ugly mixture of oil and coolant...

but before that... the nice Carreterra

But unfortunately we had to proceed that way

we found a Transporter who got us six hours to the next town with a bike mechanic. And his diagnosis on my bike was the cylinder head gasket...i found it strange to happen to a new bike but i didnt know it better...i was the noob and he was the mechanic...so i ordered that part. BMW Chile didnt have it so it had to be shipped from Germany and it would take 2 weeks. I said i try to get it faster and happily we met another Israelian biker who rode with the BMW Group Manager of Argentina a month before and he built up the contact. The next day he applied and gave me the contact of his chief mechanic who found the part somewhere in his dealer net and he said it would take a week...yeah better than two. Gabriels brake was fixed easily and he decided to go on because he had an appointment. He was a good fellow and i was pretty sad when he went and i had to stay there and wait for the gasket. But it was good to stay in Coyhaique for a week after 3 weeks biking every day. But i was checking the mechanic frequently to see my bike ;-)

after one week getting sunburned and Relaxing the part was mounted and i met a Group of german bikers at the mechanic who also wanted to head south so i joined them. And after some hours of riding i got the oil/coolant mixture shower again. I am far from being a mechanic so i was lucky to have these guys with me and we had fix it somehow. We cleaned the cooling System with water from the river and reached a place where we could pitch up the tents.

so the next day continued with the same mess...
After some km i got showered and the hot oil/coolant mix came out like a fountain. Fortunately i got the guys with me and they helped me reaching Cochrane by cleaning the coolant system with water when the temp Screen showed 5/6. We reached Cochrane and we met Ben. During the repairs on the road we found out that the oil cooler was been hit by a big stone and that made all my Problems...not the cylinder head gasket. During the day i tried to get the part from MotoAventura, but they had to order it from Germany,,,another 2 weeks. Yeah we met Ben and Lila, Ben speaks german cause his parents are Germans but moved to Chile when he was a Baby and Lila was origin, they both were doing there honeymoon touring the Careterra. Yeah and Ben said to me that he will check out some things and after 2 phone calls and 20 minutes he said that the oil cooler will be there in 1 week. He has a friend who is working in a BMW Garage and he got the used cooler from an engine in School where yound mehanics can practice. Yeah perfect, and i spent a funny and beautiful week in Cochrane. The german guys went off but we stayed in contact so i met them later again. and after the cooler was mouted we did a test ride and then the enxt day Ben, Lila and i hit the road to Argentina via Paso Roballo, which is pretty remote but sooo nice and like a zoo also...
