Im going to check with Alon but he called me and i think he got email or tex from the spot signal
the reach chopper is the 2nd chopper
The chopper at the accident was CHP. They were going to send him out by ambulance but decided it would be too rough of a ride for the 3-4 mile trip out to the main road. They finally decided to helo him out to the first hospital. The REACH must have been from the first hospital to the second, Yorba Linda?
Ami was ready to fly right out of the gate. Unfortunately it ended up being in a helicopter. I'm glad you're going to be OK Ami. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
Do you think the neck collars are as effective as neck braces, but more comfortable?
After I left pinnacals and headed toward Crab Flats.
I thought most of the guys would be gone or leaving.
But to my surprise I saw alot of friendly faces.
ADV riders are the best...Just hanging out talking bikes and riding was cool.
I didnt really expect anyone to be up for riding on sunday afternoon after a long weekend...
But Grezzydave luv2race and I came up with a plan.
We rode the rest of the day... Thanks for linking the trails together for us Luv2race
When I rolled up back at pinnacals the sun was already down and getting dark on a perfect day..!!!
Grezzydave you are FAAASSSST...and luv2race was a warrior on the big bike.
Great to make new friends.....Lets do it again soon..!!!
We hit Gold Mtn, John Bull and White Mtn Sat, as planned and had lunch at The Malt Shop in Green Valley.
Here's a pic of John Bull.
A great day of riding!
you don't see the pro's wearing anything other than the braces....seriously after a bit you don't know they are there....
Ditto...it isn't noticeable except when I look down at my tank bag to plug in my headphones
But seriously, even though I have great disability insurance better safe than sorry.
get well ami, no one really wants to get hurt, just you were unlucky last saturday.
Pioneertown (April 2009)
Pioneertown (May 2009)
Pioneertown (October 2011)
It was great to see you having fun on your bike for once rather than dutifully riding sweep.
Mental note: Check tire for 3" long nails before installing new tube. Thanks for all of the help everyone. (Except for Sito, who went into retirement just as I had to do my first ever trailside flat repair.)
So Biggie what you are saying here is that we should just notify Life Flight for the next Pioneer Town ride
It's funny this is not a hard ride at all?
Might be a good idea. Make sure they have a chopper standing by.
I don't think any of these guys crashed on anything crazy or were going that fast.
After John Bull, I spoke to this Adv rider.
I can't recall his name, but nice to meet you!
Saturday's bill (well worth it):
1. new rear tire (it probably had a few more miles left)
2. new front tire
3. new handlebars
4. new brake lever
5. new clutch lever
6. new rear turn signals
7. oil leak through hole in primary cover
H8chains told me this weekend that you can change the handle, so I did it. I sold the Old DR650 a few years ago.
did u made it to PT? i seen yellow DR400Z at Pappy & Harriets that look like it needs some work....
I made it.
The damage was done on the way to Crab Flats from Lake Arrowhead on the 3N34/T6 Dishpan Springs route. I eventually made it, but the bike got a little beat up.
BBR, were u riding a KTM??? we passed a guy on the way up t-6 to crab flats ? :eek1 that looked like he was having some difficulties:huh
1 or our rides asked if he was ok and he said yes????
