4 years from a running machine to a project!

    I got his Laverda 750SF2 5 years ago (traded for a -89 CBX in perfect shape!!) and I did not like a few things: the cheap fairing, the cheaper tracker seat and the cheapest mini speedo/tacho...

    With some help I redid the rear frame loop (sawed off by the DPO!), took off the parts did not like, bought an Acewell (http://www.acewell-meter.com/c0_1.php?pid=7&bid=15) as the stock speedo/tacho are un-obtainable/expensive and I did run in my electric fears on how to install it!!
    A really (really!) good friend offerred to install it for me....
    After 4 years of "it is ready next week", "I did not like the wire loom so I did another one for you" (I know I should have bee more on it, but I almost lost an arm (1/2 usable now) and a leg in a MC accident, so "everybody" had excuses to procrastinate!), I finally lost and went to pick her up:

    Did I mention the guy is a wood worker? That I gave him a brand new seat which he hacked "could not understand the way it was fixed!!". No sparkplugs so it is a good bet to think that there is as much saw dust inside the engine than outside.
    The 4 dangling wires must have been the start of the new wire loom:rofl....

    Real hard on my blood pressure everytime I go the garage!!!

    Here's one from an AHRMA race to inspire you.
    I had a 750 with drum brakes at both ends. I bought it for $100 , cleaned the carbs and switched the sparkpug leads, thanks to Duddles suggestion. And it ran pretty well. I rode it once then hauled it to a race at Puttnam Park and put a for sale $850 on it .
    Guys came by to look at it all day and suggested it didn't run at which time my pal Gary would hit the button and say , "You're wrong . "

    The instruments are Nippon Densel, same ones used on Honda's of that era. Wolfgang in Nakusp will have the correct faces and anything else you could ever want

    I already spent a fortune with Wolfgang!! Just spent a couple of hours to adapt a speedo adapter for the Acewell, installed half of Wolfgang 's new wireloom and EI from Sachse... Another week or two and it should start.

    Not that I need much of an excuse to post pics of my old bikes so...

    I rode 750 Laverdas for many years. Great bikes, weigh a ton but at least they're stable on the road.
