So here we go again. Blow the cobwebs off of your bike, and put Saturday April 7th on your calendars.
It's time for 4th Annual Spring Adventure Ride, and Mike and I have been busy planning, and testing a
route that we think you will all enjoy.

This year we will start off from the Turkey Hill at the intersections of route 944 and 114, just off
of I-81 exit 57, right here in Central Pa.

    Address:
    Turkey Hill Minit market
    7040 Wertzville Rd
    Mechanicsburg, PA 17050

    GPS:
    40.283536,-77.051255

We will be getting underway at 9:00am, and heading north into Perry and Juniata counties, on a mix of
asphalt and gravel roads, that offer a nice mix of twisties, scenery, and fun for everyone. The route will
be about 150 or so miles, with breaks, a fuel stop (for anyone with a small tank), and lunch stop planned.

We hope to see a bunch of you come out and enjoy the day with us. Got questions? Fire away!
    Thanks for your support.

Yeah I have a question, do we all need to be on Vstroms and KLR's. If you can sneek me in on the f800 then I am game. I may occasionally get dirty and a little squirrelly.

I guess that your dirty little BMW will be just fine. Oh, and "occasionally squirrelly", is quite the understatement, isn't it?:rofl

Racer43, thanks for your concern brother. As long as my Varadero is well maintained, (and you can bet your last dollar it will be) and as long as I am well rested I will be there and I will make it from the start of the ride, to the end and back home.

That shouldn't be a problem. Mike and Frank practiced picking them up, today. I helped a little.

Thanks, guys, for inviting me along on your route-finding, today. Let's go back and do the Meadow Road bridge in reverse.

Hey Fred, it was great meeting you today. Mike and I both agree that any man who can laugh about dropping his BMW into a rock garden, is welcome to ride with us any day, and besides, now Barry will have a GS800 brother in the group........I don't think that he really likes riding with us guys, on our lowly vstroms and klr's, he just tolerates us.:lol3

Well I'm in the process of selling my Ninja 250, so it's either the TW200 or FZ6. Which would be a better choice for this ride?

Do you ride your FZ6 on gravel roads? If so, and you you don't mind doing so at about a 35mph average, then I would take it.

(WARNING: Please take my opinion at your own risk. Anyone who has ever seen any of my bikes would probably agree with this advice. Choosing the right bike for the ride is not my specialty, and my bikes have the scars to prove it.):evil

If not, then I guess you would have to choose the TW200, but I have no idea what your fuel range or average speed would be on that bike either. How many miles can you go on the TW before needing a gas station?

Would love to join you guys. I have a Super Tenere and X Challenge. How gnarly will it be? By the sounds of things seems likt he Super T might work better. Anyone?

It's not gnarly at all. The gnarly one was last year, and that didn't go over real well with some folks. This year will be a nice relaxing ride on some good asphalt, with as many gravel roads thrown in as we can find, with the bulk of those coming towards the 3/4 point in the ride. IMO, ride the super ten, the x challenge would be overkill for this event, and besides, I really want to see one of those tenere's in action.:thumbup
