    Hey everybody!

A little more than a week ago me and 2 other friends decided, that we make a quick late summer trip to the central Balkans (Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia&Hercegovina) from our hometown of Ljubljana, Slovenia..

We were hoping to catch some sun rays at the seaside, camping on the mountains and so on, but the weather was already a little colder... Well let the pictures tell the story..

Early morning start in Ljubljana.. my bike semi-loaded (wanted to travel as light as possible..)

The other bike - my friend's Husqvarna Nuda 900R ..

And the third bike - BMW F800 Gs..

We finally came to the sea.. this is in Novi Vinodolski, Croatia.. Time for a breakfast, loosing some of the clothes, and getting ready for the curves of croatian famous coastal road..

The breaksfast time I was talking about :)

    And again the bikes..

    Chillin' in a boat..

Then we continued our way towards Gracac and Knin, where the road was closed.. we risked and there was only some gravel.. I was hoping for worse conditions :D
    [IMG]

Another time-out.. afternoon snack in Sinj..

Looking towards the old part of the city.. sadly we didn't have a lot of time for sightseeing, as we had to come as far as possible that day.. with only 5 days for the trip, our plan was to reach 600km mark from home
    [IMG]

Had to make a selfie in the road..

It was getting late, we were hungry again, but couldn't find any restaurants.. we entered Bosnia and Hercegovina, and finally there was a bakery in Stolac.. Burek and yoghurt, yeah!

We found a good place to camp somewhere above the village of Stolac. With a cool view towards the city..

Morning wasn't that cold, it should be around 8 degrees C. And the sun quickly heated us up!

We even got a personal watchdog, as there were some sheep in the vicinity :)

Time to go... the sea is calling :)

    Slowly coming towards Ljubinje..

    And finally Budva, Montenegro..

It was really cool to jump in the sea from our smelly overalls :)

And the views weren't that bad either..

There are still some tourists in the promenade and in the old town of Budva..

    Takin a selfie.. :)

    And a panorama at night..

Then we went into an AirBnb apartment we rented, as we wanted to have a good night sleep, as the next day we were planning to camp somewhere above the Tara river canyon..

    Morning start..looking towards Budva
    [IMG]

    Us again on the road..

Time for a refill, i think in Niksic, if I remember correctly :)

Slowly closing to Zabljak, the weather started to be a little more to the wet side :)

And in Zabljak, we had to put on our rain overalls.. :( the idea of camping slowly faded away..

It was a little better when we reached the bridge over Tara river..

There were some cool clouds racing through the arches of the bridge..

Our plan was to reach Zlatibor in Serbia, where we found our apartment as a substitute for a tent... the rain had picked up again..

But at least the app was nice in a somewhat foggy and damp Zlatibor. We went for a beer, a pizza, and slept like babies :)

Next stop was Mokra gora, still in Serbia, very close to Bosnian border. There they have a cool narrow gauge railroad called "the Sargan 8". As a fan of trains I could not miss that.

    The classical steam engine..

But today's train was pulled by a diesel
    [IMG]

We continued our way towards Sarajevo.. stopped in Visegrad, to get a shot of this cool bridge...

We took a little off the beaten path road towards Sarajevo - finally I was able to use my TKC80 properly.. other two guys were surprisingly not angry with the roads we took :)

But on the top, the views were great!

We took a stroll through the Bas-Carsija in Sarajevo downtown..

And of course couldn't get away without getting come cevapcici :)

Some more evening shots of Sarajevo..

And of course a well deserved beer :)

We started early..it was our last day on the road and had to make around 280km to Zeljava air base, and then another 250 to our home in Ljubljana... the weather was good and we had a good pace towards Jajce in BiH, where we had some breakfast. Then the weather turned back to the shitty side, but it luckily wasn't too bad. I had to refill my clutch reservoir (leaking master cyl) in Bihac, but slowly we came to the infamous air base..

First contact was with the guys who were removing landmines around the abandoned airfield, they said that they do not advise going too far inside.. but hey, we had to go :) The old rat-looking aeroplane was the first photo stop..

Then we finally came to the entrance of the under-the-hill base! Perfect weather for such an experience.. you can see the entrance of the base, with the opening for the MiG-21 fighter jets..

    Looking towards the runway..

Of course we had to enter...

Sadly we didn't have much more time to explore, the time (and the night) was rushing us to come back home, so we left the base with an intention to come again soon!

We finally came home at 19:30, it was just getting dark, and the Odometer turned 2050km from the start. No incidents, pure fun, exploration, good food and good friends. What else could you wish for!

Hope you enjoyed the report and the pictures.. a video is also coming soon :)

    Thank you! :)

Yes, except those with the drone and gopro. Mostly with the kit 15-45 lens, but also with an old FD 50mm 1.4 (with the adapter) and shitty plastic 80-200 (but light and good for traveling)..

Nice. I used to carry good cameras in the old pre digital times on a motorcycle. Use only a phone nowadays and miss the possibilities a real camera gives. And hate the touch screen, so I don't take many pictures.
Planning any rides or have you already winterised the bike? I live a few km from Lj.

Nice trip report from a part of the world that I'm not very familiar. The photos and video are beautiful with the drone footage being very well edited.

Thanks! You are always very welcome to discover the places around here! US of A are still on my bucket list too, been only to NYC and Colorado, but sadly without my bike :(

Great report and to see some pics of that part of the world. Great photos of the abandoned, nuclear proof inside-the-mountain airbase too. Amazing engineering that, thank goodness, was never tested in anger.

Great video too. Thanks for posting.
