    Hoping for some route advice for a day tour from Casablanca and any other helpful hints [IMG]

    I'm planning to hire a BMW 800 GS or similar, so something up to some off road. Motoroads looking like where I'll get it from at present, unless anyone else has other recommendations? It looks like the hire companies are all fairly expensive.

    I've then got 6 days to do a circular tour, but don't want to spend all day on the bike, so thinking 300km a day ish.

    I'd like to get up into the mountains, to the Sahara if poss and and also the coast; Essaouira was recommended to me.

    Wonder what people think of this a planned route?

    Any other suggestions welcomed, especially if gpx track are maybe available of routes that are a bit more offroad and less road..

    I've read up a bit and it seems I won't have any issue doing a bit of wild camping? Obviously not in the middle of towns, but ok to just find a quiet spot next away from the road to camp for the night?

    Thanks in advance for any input [IMG]

    I would skip Fes and cut over to Azrou on the R roads instead of the A road to Fes. Also, if you wanted a bit of off-road, you could take the road from Ouarzazate to Tazenakht and go through Fint. I didn't ride that while I was there, but the locals in Fint told me I could take that route, then you could take the Tizi'n'Test (Which is an amazing road) to Marrakesh.

    The other option you could do, is ride from Casablanca to Dades via the dirt route on R704, then from there ride to Merzouga.

    Lastly, I had really good luck with WheelsofMorocco for my rental. Greg there would be really helpful with figuring out a route for you if you rent through them. Their prices are about the same it seems, but who ever you rent through should be able to really advise you on routes.

    Essaouira recommended by me too. I think you would be doing yourself a disservice by NOT visiting Ait Ben Haddhou near Ouarzazate & Dades Gorge just east of there. The road up to M'semrir is fantastic. In & out under 6 hours. Some insight in my photos at;

    No, don't turn around in M'semrir. Go all the way to Agoudal, it's fun.F rom there through the Todra to Tinghir.
    The Todra is a 100 times better than the Dades.

    I was in a rental car to M'semrir, so no further off pavement. Looking go go on a DS bike next time. The upper Dades was spectacular on its own. Got any photos or further descriptions for my next visit?

    This awaits you between M'semrir and Agoudal.

    Yes the Todra Gorge is impressive but small, filled with vendors. South end is pretty.The 1st photo from north shows interest. Have more?

    Have you visited the north Mediterranean coast? About the only major area I haven't seen, east beyond Ketama.

    I rode from Fes directly to Al Hoceima via the N8/N2 and along the coast to Tetouan on the N16. A pretty nice ride.
