Well check it out boys and girls, we just picked up a brand spankin' new 690 RR directly from KTM in Mattighofen! :clap It should be one of the first private owned ones that are not for race teams.

It belongs to a friend and is currently stored in our family's garage. We are moving all of our bikes to a new co-rented facility in january so excuse the mess until then. Battery is not in yet and we will probably wait with starting it until spring since the owner is not really a cold-weather rider :cry

I quickly took a bunch of pics. Let me know if you want to see anything up close and I can snap some more on the weekend.

    Cheers and enjoy!
    Lukas

Cockpit view that shows the Scotts damper, ICO, electric Roadbook, ....

Carbon fibre bash plate - lets hope this holds up well since it is only supported in a few places:

Front wheel, billet fork bottom, Brembo caliper looks a bit different than the standard KTM piece but its not billet:

Sweet ass! Dual Acerbis running lights as required for most Rallyes:

Recycled canister from the older 660 Rallyes?

Oil reservoirs on both sides under the rear tanks:

The tanks are apparently translucent and just have colored foil on them with a slot cut out to see the fuel level:

Rear tool tray out of Kevlar with composite cover (comes off with two Dzus fasterners):

Seat (which is as hard as a stock EXC one IMHO) comes off with one Dzus in the front, quick access to fuses and air filters:

    Nice and wide Footpegs:

The front fairing comes off with 4 Dzus fasteners and 2 quick disconnects for the turn signals, very light weight (guess ~2 lbs):

Very sturdy fairing stay and instrument holder, adjusting rod on the right:

As I posted above, unfortunately not my bike. But since the owner is a good friend and a very generous guy, my cousin and I will get to ride it just like his 12GS and 520EXC that we are keeping for him. So I do suck after all!:D

I honestly don't know what he paid for it. There is another one for sale at a dealer in Austria and it is about $40.000 after taxes (we have lots of them). A bit rich for my blood but what do I know, I own a DR650....

    neat bike......

so that thing has one exhaust port...that splits into two headers...then is attached to two cans? Why?

The exhaust holes at the tip of the cans are so small....wouldn't it make more sense to put one high flow header/ can? That should save some weight....or is it just that it wouldn't look as flashy??
