Is there a thread that details the differences and changes to the 950 & 990 Adventure Bikes from 04 to 12 ?

Thanks, I have seen that thread. Maybee a better title would be the Evolition of the 950/990 Adventure. I am looking for info about when they changed from 950 to 990, changes from year to year, first year for FI and anything that may help in choosing a bike.

    Search for "Model year differences"

The 990/FI bikes started with the 2007 model year. The bikes were carbed 950s before that. The last of the 950s (2006) are the best of the carbed bikes. The early 950s had some issues that you can read about in the H.O.W. The early bikes referred to the tall version as the "S". The earliest of the 950s in the US were all fairly tall. Search that same page for "Adventure Suspension Travel" to see the differences through the years.

The early FI bikes had some issues in a couple of respects (FI was not that smooth). I would bet that most of that has been ironed out by the 2010 model.
