Does anyone know where i can find one? Or does anyone have a lens laying around? It's for a 2004 model.

What is the problem you are facing. there may be easier / cheaper solutions. KTM does not sell the lens/cover alone. You have to buy the entire unit $$$$$

The lens has cracked. Straight down the middle so it steams up now too!

I faced the same problem. Cracked the lens. I had to buy a complete expensive new speedometer and had to transplant the lens of it to the old speedometer. I still have the rest of the new speedometer unused. :pissed

He hasn't for a while. My 990 has the same crack down the center.

I've decided to try and cast my own out of clear acrylic resin.
I do remember seeing a machined aluminum speedo bezel with a plastic lens insert somewhere; it looked pretty good.

Once the holidays are over I'll get on it and post the results here. If anyone else has tried this, please let us know if you're already tooled-up and willing to make a couple more :D

Quick question - how many people would be interested in buying a new lens and what would you be prepared to pay for it ? Would you prefer a plain clear plastic replacement or would like a machined alloy outer bezel with a plastic insert ?

And does anyone know anyone who might have access to the tooling to knock a small batch up ?

These are used across a lot of 950/990 adventures, 950 sm, and some LC 4 models -as the bikes get older I am sure there will be demand for them........

Owen, I can machine something up if there's interest (Keef off the UK KTMForum) I've done a few jobs for inmates and this is a simple job in polycarbonate or with an alloy frame? I would use polycarbonate over acrylic because it won't crack like the sock lens.

If it's a hassle for you to make just one or two bezels, and you (or any other inmate) have already got a CNC program for the bezel and you're willing, I'll gladly compensate you for the use of said program. I have access to a CNC milling machine and an operator who's willing to do a 'small' item for me. I'm not looking to go into business, I just want one bezel.

PM me if that's doable :deal

    Thanks

We can make more if the demand is there, but it's not been worth it for the 1 or 2 requests we see a year to stock and keep many on the shelves. Program is done and we could have some ready in the near future.

I've not done any work on this idea but have a engineering company with 6 CNC vertical machining centres and CAD/CAM software.

They are nice. I think both my gauges have cracks. So I will be watching with interest.

Not sure which one I would prefer, clean and clear or with a bezel?

The alloy bezel might be there to add rigidity to give a better seal for the o ring that looks like it's behind the lens......CJ??

If it was just a 3mm thick plastic lens it would flex to much between the screws and let in water
