Not just for out west. With the stock tank I found myself way too many times having to turn left when I really wanted to turn right but the small tank wouldn't let me.

Most of my day rides are 200 miles or less so a fill up leaving town and I'm good to go.

Order the Safari and never look back :clap

I hear you, Where I ride in IL I am never that far from gas, but I know what you mean. Would be nice not to have to worry about it.

Not really, sometimes 100 - 200 ml top-up between changes at 4,500 miles, depending how I ride it, but usually not even that.

2008 SE with ~12,500 ish miles.

    cheers

Nope, at least not in the 2 months I've had it. Have managed a couple of thousand miles thus far. On the other hand, I have managed to run out of gas:huh

Got my Akras today and installed :D ran around terrorizing neighborhood a little and they sound great !! .....well one at least...see below
    Definitely felt some difference :clap

Couple of things; lots of popping on deceleration, and when removing the inserts,
the retaining bolt that holds it in place was slightly spot welded to the exhaust.
They spot weld the flang that holds this bolt and must have slightly got some of the bolt head.
The left one broke loose, the right one didn't, and I striped the bolt.
Got out the dremel and carefully ground/cut off the weld and bolt came out easily.
Then I couldn't get the insert out . So I have one insert in one out. I pulled and tugged and it won't budge.
I had hoped after riding, it might heat up and could get it out...nope. Arrrg ! Not sure what to try next

    Quick Question:

You pull in to a gas station on your SE in the USA. They have non-ethanol 90 octane and ethanol 93 octane, which one do you put in the tank?

After you fall over in shock at having found non-ethanol gas I'd be tempted to use that....... :dunno

Hey veetwo ,I am interested in setting up the Mik vacuum pump with inline filter and fuel petlock like your system with OEM carbs [950 se] ,however I will be running a Safari tank so do you know if this system will still work as I am thinking the Safari may come down too far and restrict access to the petlock.
I saw somewhere that the Raiddesign system was giving some problems with the Safari.
I am also keen to do the quick disconnect tank fittings as on yours originally described by Powercell but I can not read the letters on the fittings [page 42] what are they and do you still remember exactly where you found them on e-bay.
Any help would be much appreciated as I am planning some desert trips and the vacuum pump seems to be a must do for reliability, or maybe you can also advise me Powercell due to your new large tank design as both of you seem to have this pump and quick disconnect nailed. thanks guys.

Needlenose vise grips and some leather to grip the insert without scratching it. Try turning it and then pulling.
I did that on my Wings, rode it around the block and immediately put the inserts back in... too damn loud without the inserts by far....

    Quick one...

Can I easily (like, plug-n-play easy) replace the EXC style switchgear on my SE with those from a 950 ADV? I hear the newer SE's already have the ADV style switch gear

Otherwise, does anybody know the specific part numbers I need to achieve this?

    TIA

OK, Here is my 950SE quick question.
How many years did KTM make the SE and what are those years?
Where is the 950SE photos and farkles link?

From my understanding, KTM produced the 950se in 2007 and 2008. The ones they sold in 2009 were rebadged 2008s

So produced in 2007 and 2008 and sold from 2007-2009
