Some se's have adventure type controls with an agnition kill on off switch, others have push kill like exc's.

for future reference the fuel pump relay is the front one in a row of four under the seat.once i got some help i found i was getting 5-6 volts to the fuel pump during start up cycle and then 5-8 volts while running.no pinches in the wiring so i hope its just a relay but i will have to wait till next week to try one.till then i made up a plug that uses the power cord from my aerostich warmbib and an sae flat connecter which gives me direct power to the fuel pump.

not a question but a point of reference for the SE riders- I asked a few weeks ago about rear brake pads for the SE. Turns out they are the same as the front pads on my 07 450. I ordered a new set, but had a spare set for the 450 and they fit perfect. So if you need 'rear' pads for your 450, check to see if the dealer has any fronts for a 450 in stock.

Aren't they different disc sizes? 260 and 240? Seems odd they fit..

    Hey guys,

Setting the valve clearance, do you guys use Hotcams shim kit ?

And do the clearances on the LC8 need to be done a lot ?

    Cheers

Does anyone know if the SE shares the rear taillight lens with another model that allows just ordering the red plastic? It looks like the only way to get the red plastic is to buy an assembly, which seems pretty cheesy on KTMs part. The SM and Adventure are the same :cry

    Hi
I just ground down the existing ones on sandpaper.
If you have a proper caliper and that shim calculator program, you can get it closer then anything available, plus its free and you can do it all at once vs. leaving the bike open, order ,pick up etc.
Apperently not much adjustment needed on the first scheduled check at 7-8k but i had some tight valves later.

I ordered the stock male & female quick coupling for the fuel line at the 950SE fuel pump WITHOUT checking the price first.

When they arrived, I found out both pieces totaled $83.00 !!!!!!!

I like having spare parts on hand, but Dang :baldy

I just bought a used tail light off ebay for $20. It's for an '04 Adventure, but they look identical on the fiche even though they have a different p/n. The Adv part is $120 :huh for some reason.

Yep! Use the hot cams kit. Very happy with it.

Did mine at 20K, all four exhaust were tight, buy only slighty.

And the duration you go between checks will depend a lot on how you ride.
