I have been looking online and in person for a used 990R. I know the model year change for the 265MM to 245 MM suspension was between 2010 and 2011. I have also read on this forum that some (possibly many) 2011's were carry over 2010's. Something to do with build date and import date.

Is there a sure fire way one can take a tape measure or some other tell tale measurement to determine if the bike has the 265 or 245 mm suspension. I asked someone selling their "R" and they had no idea which one it was. just that it was tall. To someone 5'9" all of the KTM 990's are tall. I'd like a better determining factor.

    Thanks

Put bike on centre stand and measure the length of the shinny part of the forks. As scientific as it gets...
