We planned to do a circular ride in the great crater.

We left Tel-Aviv in the freezing air of 6 AM.
We got to Yeruham one and a half hours later, and spent another half an hour defrosting.
From Yeruham we went to the trail that crosses the great crater and climbs out of the crater through a place called "MA'ALE AVRAVAM" (Abrahams ascent. Named after the mayor of a city in Israel).

A quick stop to take off some clothing and to decrease the tire air pressure.

    And off we go

When we got to MA'ALE AVRAHAM things got a little tough.
And when the going gets tough, the tough gets pushing.

    We suffered casualties.

And then we reached the step.
(It's not clearly shown in the pictures but there's a nice rock step in the middle of the path, with no real way to bypass it.)

One guy riding, two guys pushing and two guys taking pictures.
Probably not the most effective way to go at it.

A video of the climbing efforts (I'm the talented guy who manages to fall AFTER he makes it over the rough part:muutt).

We did manage to ride a little.

Finally we made it to the top and out of the crater.

We continued after a much needed coffee break.

I knew we should have taken that left turn at Albuquerque.

We might be lost, but what a view!

While we were riding, two of the guys disappeared from our mirrors.
So we stopped and waited for them.

After several minutes, they haven't showed up.
So we back-tracked and found out the one guy suffered a flat.

That damn flat tire cost us 3 tubes and a lot of time.
so we were forced to head back to the road and go home.

We will go back there and settle the score with that trail.
