I usaully have fridays off till thanksgiving then I have to go to 5 8 hour days till feb 28th so I love my fridays but trurh be known I still only get a few hours to myself by the time I get the kids going and then get back to pick up my little guy!!!
Anyway here is some pics from today's little run on the 640 adv!!

First stop was to a spot on some property I did a survey on and I have always thought this is one of the best views in lumpkin county!!

then off to chase the north ga tag!! still some good color around!!
    0[IMG]
a little gravel along the way!!:D
    [IMG]
this dog was out chasing deer across the road for his morning entertainment!

north ga tag was at the pigsah school house on dicks creek road cool place but the vinyl siding they did in 92 kinda ruins it for me!!

Then it was off to run blood mountain and head into suches because as we all know I never really leave suches!!
then on to one of my favorites 180:evil :evil

a little stop for a quick drink!
    west to duncan ridge!!

then I rolled down duncan ridge to check if a gate was open and it was but it was a dead end but still a fun little road!!
after the dead end I went back out to 180 and headed down to winfield scott and took a few pics!!

a pic of the trout tube! this is where the stock the lake and also dump feed for the fish
    [IMG]
woody lake on the way to fs 42
    [IMG]
    cool pic along the way!!

Then I headed off to fs 42 and a stop by an old church and grave yard, I just like reading some of the old headstones and thinking about how hard life must have been for these people! One family had their 9 year old son die then their 2 year old daughter died 6 months later and then the father followed by another 5 months life is hard in the mountains now I can only imagine 100 years ago!!
after some reading and pondering I headed out on fs42

stopped for a pic at a little waterfall that most just cruise by!!
I decided to head down fs42 to rock creek road and run by fs 333 to check on a bridge out report , the report is correct, good and bad it sucks to not run through 333 but if they are fixinG the bridge at least the road will stay open!!:clap

Left there and ran up to the store to grab some vienna sausage and a butterfinger to eat with my pb&j!! I would post the name of the store but it is the new north ga tag and the name is in the pic!!:evil
    [IMG]
I ran home straight south on 60 from here as I needed to get my little bud Jaxson! We spent the afternoon talking about halloween ghosts and getting the rv ready for some camping in a weekend or so!!!
I love my local area and I love my 640!!!

I'm a N Georgia xpat...It's been really enjoyable lurking all the great threads Y'all have going.
It struck me how similar the Appalachians look at any given time no matter how far north or south you go.

This is Michaux State Forest in south central PA:

Nice trip! Dahlonega is such a nice little town.
I love that area (especially up around Vogel).
I've hiked and backpacked the AT through there for years but, alas, haven't been able to get up there for some rides. Love to come up some time for a locals tour of some nice riding areas.
I'm itching to run 129 from Cleveland up to Blairsville. :ricky
